The crux of the plot was that they spilled the milk. At a loss for what to do, they mixed plaster of paris with water. When they put the "milk" on their Mush it hardned into a solid rock! Great stuff. They just don't make stuff like this any more.

Unfortunately back in the 20's , 30's and 40's practically anyone could have opened an orphanage or forster home and kids didn't really stand a chance. Happened to my dad when his parents couldn't care for him when he was a tot during the Depression.

Be that as it is, I always felt that Spanky always took the spotlight, because he was so precocious and so unbelievably smart at only 3 years old.

My favorite episodes are and always will be the ones where Spanky is little, such as this one. He was such a little punk, and you had to love him for it, lol

this scene always reminds of back in elementary school, the kids would always pass messages down the table at lunchtime, We had to whisper because there was a rule-no talking for the first 10 minutes of lunch (I guess so everyone could eat.) old times. :)

Remember the old punch in the arm game? Pop someone in the arm and tell them to "pass it on." That always wielded some interesting results based on the individual mood of the kids that day.

This is the most bazaar moment in cinematic history! I'll never forget watching this episode after school when I was about 10. When that freaking terrifying hag growls "BLAAAAHHHHH!!!" at the end of the sentence, I fell over backwards. Kids the next day were asking each other if they'd seen her belch that flippin' outrageous sound. In the modern day, she can be looked up on IMDB as Louise Emmons. She played hags in silent movies and sound era. She's buried in an unmarked grave. No wonder. BLAHH!
