Thats neat. Even a half filled sealed container will detonate, just to a lesser degree. Maybe the door would blow of or something but, that gas has to escape.

Scary how it obliterates the container, but then that's what they're supposed to do...blow apart.

I have to wonder about the validity of the test, though. If this was a transport demonstration, then it might make sense. If it was a storage site demonstration, it doesn't -- very few pyro companies fill containers "to the brim", and if they do, it's not for very long. They need room to move around and find product, after all.

it was packed full of rockets, what you witnessed was a mass detonation of the rocket motor's and the effects all at once, and since the motor's are far more energetic than the effects the explosion was overpowered by them.
