@matt1corey Actually, Elvis' vocal abilities (range, depth, projection, etc) peaked around 72-73. "Elvis on Tour", "Aloha from Hawaii", and the 1972 gospel genre Grammy Award clearly demonstrate that. Having said that, I think you and I would agree that Col. Parker should have been hanged for allowing footage from the concert in this video to be aired on TV.
I've heard recordings of this song that he did around the same time. Now whether it was that he was in better health or the majic of the technitions,I don't know. But he definately sounded much better.I'll say this though,"He kept on to the end".
@matt1corey I think his voice got better in those years, but yeah you're right elvis lost his bright on his last years and of course nobody wants to remember him of that way
@matt1corey Hello Matt, this video quality is bad, Elvis sang great til the end (check out My Way, Hurt from that same 77 concert, video is much cleaner). Some of his greatest music and performances came in the 70's. Aloha concert in '73 is awesome! He was overweight here but the video is distorted.
you can feel the pain here that laid in the king and made him sick. but his voice is amazing here. I can relate to his sadness, and my love for him will never disapeard. he was my true and first love. hopefully we will meet again at the great gig in the sky my dear!
Thank you, Bill after video and for a comment. I have this concert on DVD, but quality is not very much good. Voice of Elvisa on this concert sounds fantastically!

he was still brilliant in ''Aloha from Hawaii'', so to say he should've retired in his 20's is a bit harsh
