  • I have been a Diabetic for 30 years and this the first I have heard of the blue circle. I am going to get one and wear it! Diabetics Unite!

  • @rwarfieldjr We salute your spirit! Happy World Diabetes Day.

ps: the blue circle pin and other WDD merchandize can be found in the IDF online shop. The url is in the video description.

  • The blue circle for diabetes is a relatively new symbol. It has been around since 2006.

Someday, it will be as well known as HIV/AIDS' red ribbon, which only really got famous after 10 years of existence.

  • @WorldDiabetesDay In the US, some groups of people represent diabetes with a gray ribbon, singly-looped (like the AIDS ribbon) with the image of a drop of blood on one streamer; others, with a white ribbon with a symbolic drop of blood (usually a red crystal) at the juncture of the two ends. The WDD circle is not nearly as widely-known, despite efforts of those of us in the diabetes online community.

  • I am diabetic for quite some years now, but I wasn' t aware of this symbol!

  • @maikie69
