I got Numan's original back in '83 when i bought the Pleasure Principle album. Just heard this NIN version for the first time. I think it's rather good, enjoyed it. NIN have done a great job, very recognizable but completely distinct as well. If you're a NIN fan who never heard the Gary Numan original, i suggest checking it out.

This is actually a very good cover. A good cover should demonstrate the covering artist's interpretation of the song while at the same time maintaining a certain amount of essence of the original. Trent accomplished both very well. A cover should never be exactly the same as the original or so different that you can't even tell that it's the same song.
