Do you mind a tip? Next time, if you have several verses which are identical in notation, try using repeats and endings. It saves paper and ink, and looks nicer and more 'professional' on paper. :)

And again you're wrong, more casual gamers and non gamers know of the Halo theme over the portal theme. Considering that a vast majority more people bought Halo than portal. If you were to play the portal theme to a random group of people over 18, they'll be more likely to pick out the Halo theme as a videogame theme over the portal theme. And that's because more people have Halo and it's been out for about a decade.

@FenrirLupus It's just because people think Valve is the most origonal and best company that is around..when in reality Half Life is the only origonal game that THEY made. And from that game alone they make dumbass asumptions..If any game deserves to be an anthem..it should be more along the lines of MGS, Halo, or any other game that played by everyone other than fanboys. Yes a lot of people know of Portal..but more "Non-gamers" know Halo and say "WTF is portal?"

I doubt many Swiss people are concerned with knowing the Vietnamese national anthem and vice versa (sorry Switzerland and Vietnam, I just picked any two random countries). I'd say this song is better known anyway because even though Halo or MGS might have sold more, more people remember this one.

When we hear the American anthem do you think "Oh that's a neat song" no, you think about the country in which is origonated in. Without knowing it then it loses all meaning and becomes useless.

Are you being serious? Valve do a lot of good things for the industry, most notably recognising talent from modding communities and colleges/universities. Look at the origins of Portal. They hired the people to make the game with them, it's still them!

What have Bungie done that is not a) Halo or b) FPS? AND Kojima?

Portal is praised because it's innovation, in spite of an over saturated market of war/blood/gore titles. I think it represents where the industry wants to be.
