  • Great performance!!! I was trying to model my performance after yours but I was asked by multiple instructors to take it a bit more relaxed and to be flexible with the tempo. This is my favorite version. Thanks for putting this up.

  • @ZamHalen94 Thanks.

Maybe you could try and record your own version and see if you think you are playing relaxed enough or not.

  • @rahmalec BTW is that extended cross grip or burton?

  • @ZamHalen94 Extended cross grip? Never heard of this. Is it close to Burton? As far as I know I play the Burton grip but maybe not exactly in all the technical detail.

The only grips I know are Stevens, Burton and Traditional. Also I saw one person play this strange grip like the Burton, but with the outside mallet resting between the middle and ring finger.

Maybe you could explain the difference? :-)

  • @rahmalec It's similar Burton (It's usually just considered a variation) but has attributes of Stevens. I really can't explain it too well but there is a feature where Ney Rosauro explains it on Vic Firth.com.

  • Hey man, this is a better performance than almost all the other ones i've seen on youtube. Great job. I think you used the right amount of rubato without getting too liberal with it. Hope more people see this!

  • @drummingfreak04 Thanks. I know what you mean by too liberal with rubato. I don't think it's something to just throw in at random moments in pieces.

I like this piece a lot myself, as well as most of his other stuff as well.
