And his liberal district would have re-elected him five times. Don't laugh. The above scenario actually occured back in 1983. The congressman was Gerry Studds from Massachussets. Why don't the actors above defend Foley? Could it be because he is not a Democrat?

  • Gery Studds didn't make it such a priority to "catch" predators. Mark Foley did. And if the guy who's trying to catch one is one himself, then how could we trust him to catch them?

    Besides, if it happened today, a democrat would resign. The year was 1983, people were diffrent.

  • Today is different? We've got gay marriage on the ballots of many states. How is today different? If anything, the country is more openly gay now than ever? So my question remains...where is all the supposed sympathy for gay people among liberals? Apparently, if you're a gay Republican, you don't get any sympathy from this crowd.
