@BlueBerryFairy1 I'm German and I read the book, and I say to you, the book is a THOUSAND times better than the movie. To be honest, I didn't even like the movie. The actress playing the main character is, at least in my opinion, a quite awful choice. And there are way too many scenes missing, instead, they invented new ones, which sickens me the most.
The book was a masterpiece, so, why did they change it? Why change a perfectly written story?

Don`t be too harsh with the film, it`s pretty good IMO with a few weaknesses, the main thing is just that there wasn`t enough money to put 6 hours of film in a trilogy. They made the best outta it.
Yesterday the sequel aired. All in all def. worth watching.

The movies always get it wrong. The first couple of licks don't elicit any screams ... it takes a short while for the pain to ramp up.
#3 is where pain reaches its limits, and at #4 the screaming begins.
