  • 5 dislikes from people who think driving a rally car is easy but will crash within a couple of corners

  • the ones talking about Loeb. We need to admit that he is an awesome driver. But despite the fact that everyone is tired of seeing him winning every season, Colin and many other drivers are much more funny to watch, and more simpatic too.

  • @SangueVerde7 One of the very few drivers to be as fast as the Scandinavians in those stages.

  • @SangueVerde7 I am talking about Colin

  • that's a big difference from the 1.6 engines...

  • who's Loeb !!?? Colin will allways remain the best in my heart.

  • wow if hed be driving like this these days hed be beating loeb by 10 sec!

  • words can elplane dis guy hes just so dam good r.i.p colin

  • @addiboo1234 he was a natural and then he moved to Citroen and drove there boring car which had to be driving neat and tidy and that wasn't Colin at all!

  • 5 dislikes and they're all sebastien loeb.

  • 8,26 whats mean words "rats" thanks:)

  • @Mmpp84 "ruts" - 8:30 - 8:32. Where cars have dug up the road, leaving 2 tyres tracks to follow. Bouncing in and out of the ruts can put the car out of balance, especially at high speed!

  • jesus fucklorddddddddddddd

  • Scotland flag helmet...

  • That's Ridicilous! Look at 0:22 , all those People close to the narrow road, imagine a single mistake of the driver, and it looks like it's really easy to mess up

  • @cookies1and1creme Something did happen like that in Rally Portugal 1986. Over a crest the driver made a mistake and slid into the spectators, killing three. Being a spectator you have several risks, but those risks are ignored because the spectators love the sport. Fans are crazy sometimes.

  • @Kirbyguy222 good job fellow youtuber, you are ever most correct.

  • @Kirbyguy222 you got it wrong he was dodging one set of fans and ran into another set.

  • just chilling at 120mph sideways, yards from trees.

  • wow... brings back memories! i remember when i was 5 i watched an interview of mcrae on tv and he was doing his drift thing on gravel. i was so amazed i tried doing it with my little blue car i used ride on (the ones where you have to push yourself with you leg) and i always end up falling over.

  • 5 people like scalextric

  • The best part about this vid is that when he hears the call "jump" he gives it some more gas!

what a hero, what a loss

    R.I.P. Colin!

  • Awesome & Hat's Off to Colin

  • He will be and is still missed

  • even though I am Finnish, and it feels a slight bit like treason to say, there never was a man like Colin. The way he could thrash the car entirely by just driving and yet be able to drive in such civilised manner..

If anybody comes close to this sort of self-and-car-destructive driving style, it's got to be Hamilton. And even Lewis is an F1 driver, so no, there'll never be another Colin. Such an influential person.

  • F1 drivers are a bunch of pussies....

  • everybody compliments colin, and I agree he is amazing but give some credit to his awesome codriver

  • EPIC driving

  • Driver from god...

  • wowwwww 9:16

  • its hard to see how much faster you could go down that road, even in one offtodays mordern WRC cars, awesome commitment!!!

  • 5 people are blind , how could you dislike this ?

  • WHY! WHY! WHY! YOU SHOULDN`T LEAVE US NOW!

  • Colin dances on the limits for getting off-road and crash 1kmh more and he would crash he drove like crazy RIP

  • going sideways in sixth gear and still able to control it, damn!

  • Colin was one of the great users of Scandinavian flick. Like you can see from this video.

  • @qettyz I assume that's the shifting technique ?

  • @Silenced140 Hi, no it's not about shifting. "Scandinavian flick" is technique used to when entering the corner.

Like you see on the video, braking and then he kind a flips car from left to right hand corner just before the corner.

  • Holy crap 9:16, that was close.

  • Loeb suks...Colin Rules.....lol...R.I.P

  • @galvai Loeb is far from sucking dude. Colin does rule though.

  • jak by polska miala takie drogi asfaltowe jak oni w lesie to by byl chyba jedyny powod do dumy dla polakow ktory stworzyl rzad :D

  • Colin Mcrae is a legend!

  • near the end he says jump maybe.... and before that he said like 3 right when it was like a 6.... oh boy i don't want him to be my co.

  • SS 1 of 2001 rally

  • this is perfection, my eyes cant believe how fast this is, and how he nails every single twist; hes going 4 times faster than ive ever been on a dirt road.

its a pity people try and do this every weekend near me in their old holden commodores with 3 drunk teenagers for co-drivers.

  • I'm sick and tired of those rally games. I wanna do this for real.

  • amazing

  • 5 dislikes are from travis pastrana fans who think travis was better :S lol

    best in car video ever!

  • 3:29 :)

  • @NomenLog OMFG 9:15 Master Skill Driving **********

  • @NomenLog i loved that 2..

  • driving the wheels off...RiP

  • eres el mejor colin...descansa en paz!!

  • I laugh at people who say it takes no skill to drive awd cars.

  • What does 6 crest mean? I know he is referring to the layout of the track but what does it mean exactly.

  • @GoodEvenings Colin's system was about gears so a 6 crest is 6th gear over a jump or small incline

  • @GoodEvenings a crest that can be taken at full speed.

  • amazing stuff! RIP :/-

  • Mesmerizing.....

  • This man sold me a Ford Focus.

  • That was an amazing save @ 9:17

Seeing the trees wizzing by, thats what i love about rallying. The natural skill of not only the drivers but co-drivers as well. It takes skill to drive a car around an oval at 200MPH, but a lot more driving one at 120MPH on a dirt road surrounded by trees.

  • You still think nascar drivers have this degree of talent?? Dream on!

  • this is true racing right here, that nascar shit requires no talent like this kind of racing does!!! GReat job Colin, i would give my left nut to have the opportunity to learn how to race rally.

  • 9:15ekko ki era colin... incredibile nn dice una parola...=) ciao colin

  • i wonder how this stage time compares to the times of the last time this stage was run in wrc

  • What is line and possible line ?

  • OMG, i would give my left teste to be in that car....McRae/Grist......heroes!!

  • The co-driver was Niki Grist?

  • @ale9357 yes

  • this is rallying

  • amazing, 8:30 onwards is just unbelievable. Can hear Nicky is scared out of his mind. Most naturally talented driver the world has ever seen and ever will.

  • This is cool, seeing this kind of thing from inside the car and hearing the info directed to Colin is just amazing.

  • best driver

    best wrc age

  • Amazing driving. Really shows you how much Colin was always giving 110%! Unbelievable.

  • impossible, two gods in 1 car!

  • 3:25 shows who's da man!!

  • 220 km/h in a fuckin wood!!!the best colin

  • Awesome.

When you see how much they're doing with their feet at the same time it really blows your mind.

  • 09:16 close there :D

  • Great!!!

  • this was unbelieveable!

  • This is one of those moments in Rally where your hair stands on end and you can't look away. You're transfixed, hungry for the driver to go around that next turn or over that jump. And at that point unbelievers realize what Rally is all about.

Thank you for the memories, the thrills, and the personality Colin. There will be none like you in my lifetime at least, if not for all time.

  • well said sunshine (Y)

  • Couldn't have said it better !

  • The WRC needs that kind of stage!!!!!

  • Great team work. Nicky Grist and Colin!!

  • incredible teamwork... stunning driving and the readouts are spot on...

  • Some call that easy...

  • yeah only the ppl that go on a dirt road at 30 mph and are like hey i could become a rally driver....but they dont realize these guys are going in between like 70-120 mph

  • Mega commitment....Hero!

  • colin is a true legend.. RIP

  • wow!

  • whats the average speed of the drivers?

  • about 70mph, top speed around 130mph, due to gearing,

  • What stage?

  • i wish i could have ben in that car too!

  • shame it had to end.. i could have watched that for hours on end I really could have....

Colin was not always the quickest.... but he was always the best

  • ear rape at 04:47 and 04:57.

  • If you look at Hirvonen or Loeb or even Latvala, you can see colins lines are totally off.

  • *awesome*

  • stunning

  • one of the most talented drivers ever, survives some of the most dramatic crashes ever, then dies in a chopper, tragic.

  • lets be honest rallying will NEVER, be the same again, without the true drivers like colin, group b was a fantastic era , & exiting for motorsport, which should never of being banned, but this SADLY missed legend took art into the rally buisness, would subaru still be popular today if it wasn,t for colin mcrae?

  • 3:30 he slides the focus to 45 degrees to the left before taking the 5right...monster...rip

  • scandinavian flick ! ... great ! ...

  • to je paráda co chlapi

  • I love hearing pacenotes from Nicky Grist especially in Finland where the flow of pacenotes are quicker.

  • I love watching rally, but I know nothing about it... could somebody please explain how the co-drivers "Instructions" are meant to be followed? :P

"4right 50 over crest"... and so on

  • i think that: this means turn right on a corner of severity 4, go straight for 50 meters, and then there is crest. corners with severity 1 are the open corners, and 5 the tights, but sometimes the scale is reversed.

  • Thank you :D

  • I thought it meant a corner the driver should take in 4th gear.

  • I think it's the opposite, in a sense that 1 are hard corners and 6 open ones.

  • That's right! The number of the corner it's the suppouse gear that the driver must ride the turn.

1 being the thightest and 6 the most open.

    I hope it helps!

  • what does it mean when they say dont cut ? as in dont cut the corner ?

  • Exactly! The driver is suppouse to stay in the center of the road and don't make the corner by the inside of the camber, this because there could be some obstacles like rocks or a tree that it's not clearly visible.

  • it means don't cut the corner

  • 4 right= take corner in 4 gear

    50 over crest= crest at 50 m

  • Comment removed

  • at 4:28 i mean

  • EPIC! that was much faster than this morning... 4 secs faster!!! WTF??

that was still a kickass driving, even 10-15secs slower would have been kickass driving. Colin you showed every1 that left foot could and should be used to brake. RIP

  • colin ruled the wrc...very sad rally's without the too best drivers colin/burns that god be with you guys....R.I.P

  • These are the best drivers in the world..hands down..

  • El as de los caminos

  • excelent!

  • he is the reason why i got into rally, i even went and bought his game

  • colin mcrae driving is an amazing thing to watch...R.I.P

  • I looove the cool voice of the copilot. Like hes reading a newspaper in his livingroom.

  • the best ever co-pilot in wrc...rip

  • US needs to get more involved in wrc.... all the US drivers suck though compared to say loebs speed

  • everyone sucks compared to loeb.... pastrana did a couple of events last year and was supposed to do a few more, before subaru pulled out of wrc

  • wonder what the average speed is on these courses.. the gravel ones with a lot of curves.

looks like hes goin 80 through some of those corners sideways.

pretty amazing to watch, gotta have balls of steel to race these roads effectively

  • Some/most stages in Finland have an average speed of 120km/h and that is the maximum FiA allowed the cars to go, if faster they take away the stage and so on...

I remember they hade an tarmac rally here in Sweden who a stage that the average speed were 137km/h, but that stage got erased fast :P

  • que grande colin nada que decir , un maestro... y el unico...

  • Today the idiots here, SEBASTIEN LOEB won the Argentina Rally for the 4th time following

This year, he already won 5 races on 5 races disputed in the season 2009 loool

It is its 52th victory in the WRC and he is 5 times World Champion following (2004, 2005,2006,2007,2008)

And it's not finished because it will be WC also this year 2009 for the 6th time following !!!

Who says better ?? ^^ All these numbers are absolute records of course that no forever made pilot before him

    ...

  • Colin forever!

  • What an amazing super-driver!!!My absolute favorite WRC driver no doubt about it!!!He was the best,a true LEGEND!!! R.I.P-SUPER COLIN...we miss you :( You are the greatest forever!!!

  • STFU dumbass!!!McRae is the biggest LEGEND in WRC history!!!So just get lost with your Loeb here!!!

  • LOOOOL

suker litle dick learn the palmares of LOEB and Mc Rae

if you can forget your sucker mind fanatic whith IQ of fly !!!

all facts you can say that you want like jokes loool

the truth is the truth and the palmares speak about !!

it's not the roastbeef propaganda and PC games (loooool) who do the greatest, it's the real life, poor idiot of kind !!!

    and so,

LOEB IS THE GREATEST FOREVER OF COURSE !!!!! :-)

  • How old are you idiot anyways??? 7 or 8 max. I´ll bet!!!That was very sophisticated arguement you wrote there...good one...pffffff IDIOT!!! I will not lower myself to your level of idiocy again and talk to you,so you can write anything you wan´t here and noone will care!!!Go drink some milk infant!!!

  • You give me headech here.

Have you ever heard the word "development"? guess not. The thing here is that Citroen put alot of money to have a good car, against the other team(s), in 2009 season it's only two teams. So compared to none competition from other teams and hard development on it's own car it's easy to understand why they win so much.

FiA have rated there own greatest driver, for exampel, Tommi mäkinen and Walter röhl are in much higher position then loeb ever will be.

  • Comment removed

  • i totally agree , loeb came on sage at the perfect time , all the big names retired , except for gronholm , but loeb is better then gronholm , and burns was the only better driver then loeb but he died , so now loeb has no competition , cuz the drivers from team ford have to gain experience , altho hirvonen is getting faster and faster.

  • Explain how he won the ROC, then.

  • did i ever say loeb has no driving skills ? no , i said , competition is hard to find in wrc these days , thats what i said , if there would be more drivers pushing loeb , he would be making more mistakes , so you can thumb me down as much as you want , but all you do is show that you dont know much about the rally sport , cuz what i typed in my comment is a fact !

  • That is a show just for fun.

  • and tommi and rohl drove in a time where competition was much much higher , teams where much closer to eachother , so i totally agree , loeb will never get a higher status then the older legends ! but i must say , other drivers where just as good as tommi , carlos , colin , burns , where all on the same level , the main reason why loeb is completely dominating , is cuz he has more skillz then the rest , and is more consistent , he rarely makes a mistake !

  • colin mcrae its the best pilot of rally what i never see....but he died by acident...ohh...colin...!he was a good pilot!

  • i need one of those transmissions on my car.

  • Rip .. you will alvays be the greatest

  • i wish he could've won one 1000 lakes rally or sweden.

somehow he couldn't reign that exuberance and put in the hedge a few times.

what a skill to drive like that on gravel..

    we are mere mortals

  • CRAZY !!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! That was amazing!

  • Balls to the wall!!!!

  • L-E-G-E-N-D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well maybe not walks but drives, or walks, or just looks at it all depends

  • hes the navigator, the navigator walks the track they are doing and rights down notes about turns, jumps, speeds, and terrain. During the race he reads it out to the driver, for example the navigator will say tight turn dont cut, after he says that its coming up really soon so the driver knows he needs to slow down and dont cut the turn probably a tree or ditch there. With out the navigator the driver couldnt go his max speed

  • so why don't driver go through the track several times him self and learn all the coners and turns ...

  • Strictly forbidden to come on stage before rally for a driver! Panizzi was caught on a Monte Carlo stage (though, right close to his house) while being cycling and was severely punished.

  • The Master!

Some of those high-speed corners with spectators on them make me cringe with disbelief that they have that much control.

  • can anyone explaine what hiis saying ...

  • The codriver reads off the upcoming corners, distance to them and the severity of them.

Look up "Pacenotes" on Google for more information.

  • They didn't have the flappy paddle gearbox yet

  • they do they are just not on the column he has two levers a gear lever and brake.

  • His brake is in the standard car position of being the middle foot pedal lol, and yeah in 2001 they did just have the sequential stick box no paddles

  • what a driver.....a pure legend

  • Un pilota con i contro-coglioni!!!!!! Ciao Campione....

  • I'l think this is litle bit too slow driving, to win Neste rally Finland aka "1000 lakes rally".

  • 3:29 and 9:15 = the uberness

  • The Best
