As a young learning driver, we all have our favorite brands. Everyone i know is Cliché in saying "Awesome Audi A4" or BMW this.

For me, it always has been Saab. My first car will DEFIANTLY be a 9000 or 93. When i heard that GM wanted to close down Saab forgood, i lost my dream of never being able to buy myself (after long saving) a brand new 9-3 or 9-5

But i never lost hope! And it payed off!

Yesterday saw the coming together of over 30 Saab Support Convoys world wide, and what a great feeling it was to attend the biggest one (so far) in Trollhättan! People from all over Northern Europe came to support Saab in its hometown, and with attendance reaching well over 2000 cars it was a sight to behold.

I for one am convinced that Saab will find a new buyer and usher in a new era of automotive goodness built by trolls in Trollhättan.

What is GM waiting for? Every day that passes without a deal is bad for Saab since very few people buy cars from a company that might or might not exist next week.

And it's a stab in the back of all the workers at Saab, and all the dealers around the world, who want to know whether they have a job or not. People are already applying for new jobs just because they can't wait around for months for this deal to finish.

Where the hell did the Saab Variable Compression technology go to? I remember I read about it in early 2002. By then they had achieved very satisfactory results with an SVC 1,6 liter engine capable of the same outputs of a 3,0 liters normal unit with 30% less fuel consumption. Saab had been developing this for 20 years and GM pussies shelved it allegedly due to "HIGH COSTS"! Come on, I wonder if GM has ever made at least 1 sole decision right concerning Saab.

Regarding Ed Whitacre's statement: I don't think any of the bidders are short on cash. This is most likely another plot by GM to drive splinters into the sales process. Would Spyker, or any other bidder, really submit offers without having the funds? Come on!

I own a Saab 9000 CS -92, great car, fun to drive and very few problems with it. But lets be realistic, Saab has almost always lost money and is burdened by debt. The GM ownership has hurt the brand and sells has been dwindling over the last years. Any potential buyer is gonna need a miracle to turn it around. Let Saab die in peace.
