The scene used for the intro never ceases to crack me up. Improbably high cliff in Virginia! Suicidal leap! Oddly non-alarmed friend! Ten-second fall! Practically nonexistent splash! Dive five feet underwater!
@eargh are you seriously that ignorant? Pocahontas is a Native American they've never seen a ship sail in there lives, so they assume there clouds since they resemble clouds in there eyes.
Personally I wish the Human Race had someone like Grandmother Willow to look to for guidance I wish I could live to ancient times to be that person to help nurture our species through the good and bad times show them the difference between right and wrong without the need of doctrine or heracy that comes with cult!
when she says quway quway notura (u will understand) it made me think tht when pocahontas talks to john smith in her language and ends the sentence with notura so i kinda think tht she was sayin i dnt understand to him :D....YEAUHH SMARTICLES!!!
This movie as i remembered was so magical. As I remember i used to spy like her through the nearby bushes and called my cat Meko when as we went exploring the nieghborhood, I always wished i had a sister like that.
Forgive me, I should've worded that better. I should've said. " One of the reasons why I didn't like Avatar was because it seemed like a ripped off verion of Pocahontas except it featured blue cat people instead of any native indians." I'm sorry if that seem unfair to you, but that is my opinion. The story left alot to be desired, it was the same story retold again, it seemed lazy. The only thing it looked like they tried on was the graphics/cgi, and that was one thing I could say I liked sadly.
I'm so effin sick of people comparing this to avatar. Pocahontas was a part of history. Avatar is a sci fi movie about blue cat people. They are nothing alike.
@inugal321 Well, this is a very, very loose interpretation of actual historic events. Extremely loose. But still, this came WAY before Avatar, and is fantasy, not Sci Fi.
@inugal321 ... I think you misunderstood my comment. I was agreeing with you about being sick of people comparing Pocahontas and Avatar. I then went on to mention/correct you slightly in that yes, Pocahontas IS based on true historic events, albeit very, VERY loosely, and is a fantasy story. And that yes, Avatar is Sci-Fi.
@BaekHoProductions Yeah thats what i thought when i first saw Avatar but Avatar really doesnt have shit on this movie because the music in Pocahantas is untouchable to any other movie ever imo and avatar doesnt have much music if i remember right.
@kisattiger I think the point is to use your soul to discern the white noise around you...so you are listening to something outside of yourself using the innermost part of you.

@shotty2222 avatar isnt a musical. it does have an amazing score by james horner.

Which is why i didn't like Avatar because it was just a ripped off version of Pocahontas except John Smith didn't stay with her.

@Equus2011 not liking avatar for that reason is not fair. the meaning of avatar is to protect the earth and not destroy it.
