  • She is so pretty! and so cute. :)

  • 12000 to 40000 bird why?? u may ask? their r 3000 left n the world...unless spending 200,000 on a spix macaw from rio.

    - Talon

  • soooo beautiful

  • hes a baby right? so cute

  • They are not illegal to own in the USA. They are however highly restricted from being imported (as are most exotics). To bring them into the country legally you must adhere to CITES. The reason they are so expensive is because there aren't as many breeders as other species. Basically when CITES was enacted, whatever breeding pairs were already in the USA were the only ones that are now producing the birds for sale. Many stores still only sell breeding pairs so the species will continue to grow.

  • No, you dont want one. Thay are loud, diestructive, meen, unpredictable, brats and they are smart. like a 2 year old spoiled rotton brat. they might like one person in the household but you wont know untill they choose. The odds of getting a "nice" one is verry small. also they are a pet(responsability) for life as they may outlive you.

  • @lanceehansen Out of all the research I've been doing on them, not ONCE have I heard anything about them being "mean." If you own one, elaborate on how they're mean as I hope to care for one one day. If you don't own one, I would appreciate you not spreading information you may have misheard because you never truly know common behavior until you own one.

  • @CorruptionIMLC i have heard they are one of the nicest most laid back macaws

  • @DGtoDAkoNG Yeah. I've always heard give them a large but very strong cage, proper diet, and proper care in general and they're the most gentle and sweet of all macaws.

  • I fuckin want one and i saved alote of money(enough for one like this) but they dont sell it in my fuckin contry

  • he is a beautiful bird.

  • DAT BIRD. IT IS CUTE

  • Beautiful bird!

  • SO MANY BIRD TOYS!!!!

  • He's beautiful!

  • HOLDING A HYACINTH MACAW IS ILLEGAL, BECAUSE THEY ARE DYING OUT

so DON´T buy one of them,

they also get depressiv, if they are tot lonely... like this one...

  • @SpyroLoveCynder you sir are a moron. Hyacinth's are not illegal to buy in this day and age because of the massive amount of breeding programs to keep them from becoming extinct. Do some research before you open your mouth to spread lies. If they were illegal to own, there is no way that there would be so many videos openly showing that family own these birds.

  • @SpyroLoveCynder you idiot SpyroLoveCynder!!! of course there not illegal to buy- duh this ones on youtube!!! and so many others are too!!!!!

  • @SpyroLoveCynder You have no idea WTF you are talking about. They are not illegal. In fact, thanks to breeding programs, the breed is slowly coming back. They are safer in captivity if you think about it. Have you seen what some people do to wild caught Hyacinths? Despite conservation laws, Hyacinths are often hunted for their feathers and meat in some South American countries which is one of the main reasons why this species is endangered in the first place.

  • what is the cost of the hycinth macaws in the usa ?

  • @TheCheeco9 about $10,000

  • @TheCheeco9 The average price is about $10,000. Yup, it's crazy!

  • haha you just jacked off a bird anything lower then there head they consider someone trying to have sex with them HAHAHA trust me i know my bird is attached to my mom ; ) now the bird lives with me in my room because my mom pet him on his tummy to much and now..... well you know

  • CUTE!!!

  • my parrot doesnt have clip wings- but these birds are not raised in the wild ...and if they go out flying ...they will die by some predator and they will not know how to find food and shelter like their wild counterparts..

  • i own 1 of these he costed me over $3,000 but never clipped his wings he can fly but he loves me never fly away from me :) i love him more then my own wife

blue macaw are very intelligent because they can sense whenever human is sad or happy and they feel love :)) and dont worry my macaw is not illegally bought. looking forward to buy a female macaw

  • give him one more kiss from youtube lovers..Thumb up

  • this one looks scared...

  • omg its BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

  • these birds, if brought up from a young age, dont consider themselves a foreign prisoner, they consider the humans around them their adopted flock, and are only happiest when in said company. They dont generally know how to fly, they CAN fly, but its like putting a child on roller skates down a hill who doesnt know how to stop, they will stop, just not in a good way. the wing clippin can be an ordeal as they dont like being held down unless used to it, but it doesnt hurt, and they dont care

  • Comment removed

  • can u tell me where this shop?? its very nice

  • clipping the wings is a good thing, but you should never allow your bird to touch the dirty floor in your shop.

  • My 12 year old sun conure bathes in the toilet and eats anything and everything that is edible that he finds... hes fully flighted and goes in our outside as he pleases withought me even home.... How is robing him the gift of flight or quaranteing him like a baby GOOD???

  • @ninja6kid Well around here and sun conure would be eagle or hawk food. They don't have the skills to deal with an attack like that, and would be eaten or worse injured so that their death would be slow and painful. Also why would you allow your bird to wash in your toilet? Thats disgusting and unsanitary. The lids on my toilets are always down because thats filthy and not the place for a member of the family to washing in. Just because you've gotten lucky doesn't mean everyone else will.

  • beautiful bird

  • an animal that can outlive its owner shouldnt be a pet im just saying but thats just me the bird wouldnt get over its loss of you

  • I want one of those T_T so beutiful and tender when its rolling!

  • would you recommend this bird?

  • @birddude5 Hyacinth macaws, and macaws in general, require alot of care and training. They are very loud, make a mess, chew/bite alot with their strong beak (including you), need a varied diet and require lots of patience and time. They can also outlive their owners. Not good as a first pet experience with birds.

If you can happily deal with the quite vast needs and costs of a hyacinth macaw, you'll have a very intelligent, loving and likely life-long companion.

  • That is one beautiful and funny bird!

    and i suffer from ornithophobia!

damnit I'd wish birds didn't creep me out :(

  • uh thats kinda bad for the bird laying it on its back i mean if it goes on for too long at a time its just like a horse laying on its stomach, meaning... it can suffocate

  • @joeypriolo Not at all. Most parrots love laying on their backs for hours at a time.

  • @joeypriolo Actually it has no effect. Suffocation can be caused in a bird if you accidently hold their chest too tight because of their lack of diaphragm... being upside down is fine as long as they enjoy it as a form of play :)

  • Magnificent!

  • I WANT ONE

  • @Coleeatsenjoi hope you have a big wallet, they don't come cheap, and they are rare.

  • @fannoj how much r they? i heard they r really xpensive

  • @Coleeatsenjoi 13-16k and u can have one haha

  • @Coleeatsenjoi isnt cheap lol ^^

  • @Coleeatsenjoi theyre the biggest parrot in the world jsyk

  • Oh My God hes soooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hehe he looks like he's smiling ^^

  • whoa its as big as an eagle

  • @SiegfriedZ no itz not no were near the sizeof an eagle

  • @theberserkerpredator a falcon then?

  • my macaw likes that to :)

  • Aww .. I just love that it looks like they are smilling all the time .. this is one of my favorite birds

  • Oh he's so pretty! He's so blue!

  • omg i want one

  • he's beautiful:)

  • Woah~ That is one beautiful bird 'O'

  • What a beautiful bird this is.

  • im having as a baby next month any tips

  • Such beautiful colour

  • hes very different looking compared to most parrots ive seen. what about you guys?

  • @musician15134

largest of macaw family, and I think 2nd most expensive!

  • OMG i luvv these birds. i want one soo badly.

  • A bird exercises its wings constantly, only when they can't flap their wings do they get a serious calcium build up locking their wings in a certain possision. To breed these birds you need to follow some very strict rules as the slightest alteration of these rules can cause a major upset in their breeding. You do need to give them your utmost attention for a large part of the day and they need to be in a certain area where they will not be isolated from human contact.

  • they are pretty much the same just different colours. Clipping the wings isnt cruelty. These birds require alot of attention as they are pretty much little people in the way they think and their personality. Greengrendel you obviously dont understand birds lol.

  • wich 1 should i get dis macaw or the blue and gold 1 i cant deside

  • cool bird so cute

  • nice parrot man

  • is he yours cuz there 12,000 dollar birds

  • Clipping their wings only makes it so they cannot fly long distances. Its no more cruel than having a dog on a leash or confined to the backyard so that it doesn't escape.

  • @Fleefles

Wrong very few clipped birds can fly and distance at all

  • @MapleMaster

Not if you do it right. Also the feathers grow right back and it doesn't hurt them at all. It's almost essential to clip a birds wings unless you have some sort of free flight aviary set up outside for them or something. Birds die all the time because owners refuse to clip the birds wings and the bird will fly into a window or wall.

  • clipping it's like tying up a child's legs so it doesn't run off.

You can live on a wheelchair, but you need to run to be healthy and happy.

  • @Fleefles

Not to mention it prevents the bird from flying into walls or windows and breaking its neck. That's how my grandma's cockatiel died.

  • @Fleefles some of us have birds who are TOTAL CLUTZ birds and have to be clipped because they break their blood feathers so often they could get an infection. It's better to have a bird who can glide a short distance safely and say NOT fly out a window to where a preditor can get it than to let it be unclipped. Partial clips are the best.

  • @Fleefles except when a dog runs you can chase it, when a bird flies, uh oh...

  • wing cliping is cruelty....you can abuse something physicaly and mentaly....Cliping its wings so it cant fly is like cutting off one of your dogs legs...you take flight away from bird, you take walk away from dog....they can both still get around, just not very far or fast. isint that the goal?

"escape"...from its prison????....if you have to hack off an animals body parts so it cant "escape" CLEARLY IT DOES NOT WANT TO BE WITH YOU. My yard has no fence and my window is always open.....

  • @ninja6kid i ave a red tail black cocky, got him at 8 months and while he came home with wings clipped, i decided to let them both grow, he loved showing off his full span, however one day, he flew, now of course he doesnt know how to fly or guide himself, he just goes in a straight line until he smacks into something, but he didnt smack into something, he went out the door, and got stuck in tall tree for 3 days, scared shitless, screaming all day and night wishing someone would come gethim

  • @Fleefles Clip their wings.....It isn't so cruel when that $10,000 goes flying off into the sunset right into an telephone phone and becomes instant rotisserie chicken. Do it for the safety of the animal, after you gain enough trust with it, you don't have to clip em :)

  • @Fleefles Also not to mention THAT would be the most expensive meal you'll ever have in your life lol (^O^)

  • @Fleefles they cant feel it what so ever, and in a contained environment it is highly suggested that you do clip its wings, so they dont fly into any sorts of danger, or extend there wings into danger. im a higly trained bird expert, seeing as i have 4 macaws, and 2 cockatoos. get your facts straight before you talk, its to train them moron. SO DO ME A FAVOR AND FUCK OFF YOU WORTHLESS SCUMBAG.

  • @Fleefles

I have to disagree with you. You have to clip their wings enough time so they'll suddenly won't escape.

Otherwise, I don't see a reason to clip the wings after they're used to you, the environment, and everybody else in the house.

  • @iMGamer I have three birds who are not clipped. Clipping vs Non Clipping really depends on the situation. The main reason birds fly out is with doors left open or if a window is open and something startles the bird. They fly up high because they get scared and it's hard to get them back down. In the right environments non clipped birds have some advantages such as healthy exercise and being able to fly to another perch or you. A bird can still get out if it's wings are clipped though.

  • @Fleefles how about trimming their wings

    j

  • i agree

  • nice colors!

  • he is pretty with the blue feathers and the yellow around some of him :D

  • how much does one cost? thx

  • About 15k USD, in some countries it's even more expensive. It's a lifetime pet since it can live about 100 years.

  • Hyacinth macaws are indagered, so they cost roughly along the lines of 10,000 USD. This is just an estimate. It depends on where you get your bird. You also have to have a permit, stating that you will breed your hyacinth due to their rarity

  • thank you

  • omg I want one.

  • they are saving these birds already

when you got his trust you can do everything with him

  • soooooo nice Macaw nice colur too!!!!!!!!! =D

  • he's really beautiful!!! x

  • Forget pandas, save these.

  • @greengrendel agreed.

  • @greengrendel

yo hell yeah, i did a report on the panda for public speaking, they don't want to survive. Any species that they have to give viagra to and show them panda porn to get them to bone ain't worth saving.

  • @greengrendel sooo true panda < blue macaw

  • @greengrendel forget you! save em both!

  • aww! cute!

  • So gentle and adorable :3

  • This bird of native from a small rainforest area of Brazil and unfortunately it's becoming rarer everyday. There's another Macaw specie from Brazil called in Portuguese "Ararinha-Azul", it's a smaller one, but with light blue color and grey head, it's just availble in captivity, it's already extinct in Nature. I presume the same fate for tge Hyancith.

  • That is soo sad! This is why I will only ever adopt rare exotic pets and never buy them from pet shops or anything.

  • @ordinaryman1982 from the sound of the description, I think it's called the Spix's macaw. There's a book on the species and the peril they're facing.

  • isnt that a hyacinth macaw?

  • lol the titles isnät just saying that...

  • im getting one soon any tips

  • just do a lot of research other than youtube.

  • LOL , deep blue Macaw wow! i'd like this color

  • OMG So F*cking CUTE!!!

  • Jajaja, que docil...!

  • Such an amazing bird :3

  • We have 2 of those at my pet store! They are amazing birds!

  • I simply wonder HOW THE FUCK did this guy manage to acquire this extremely endangered brazilian macaw species...

  • They're bred in captivity

  • that's what I hope, because you should know that there are almost no colonies left, and the biggest one, it's max population is extremely limited, and they are endemic, meaning that they cannot survive in another habitat not being the one in central Brazil (of course it can survive if caged) so yeah, I hope you're right..

  • wooow you are quite a tough guy eh? stop talking too much about this topic because you are just proving to everyone that you are just a little pathetic and ignorant idiot... Hyacinth macaws are protected by law and are catalogued as an extremely endangered species, with threats of extinction, so the one who should "keep your shit together" before knowing what you are talking about is YOU. Did I in any case insult anyone? no. So please keep your childish and immature comments for yourself.

  • yea well said. they are increasing in numbers now actually.

  • Thank god someone has common sense here.. And as well it's good to know that they are increasing in poulation.

  • wrong sir they are decreasing in population they say by about 2016 they will be extinct :)

  • lets all smile about that.

  • @mistabiggz16 Hyacinth macaws are not going extinct as there is a captive breeding population. It's not going extinct in the wild either as there is a very successfull conservation effort going on in a part of it's range. Increase from 1'500 to 5'000 birds there. Just search-engine ''Hyacinth Macaw Project''

Endangered? Yes. Going extinct? Not. Conservation efforts show great results.

Tens of thousands of other endagered species aren't as lucky.

  • so if catching hyacinths is legal and I caught the whole wild population and sold them somewhere. nothing would happen? God some people are just so ignorant.

  • It's got a ring, wich means bred in captivity.

  • Omg .. he totally trusts you lol aww how much are they?!?! hes soo beautiful

  • around 9000-12,000$

  • our family loves parrots we have hundreds of macaws and thousands of african gray parros we have 2 blue hayacinth macaws too we tried to bred them for almost 20 yrs now they never gave birth.. so this bird is not only rare but its hard to breed, :(

  • Hyacinths usually breed while in flight. so if their wings are clipped that might be why they are not breeding.

  • Hes so awesome! I want a macaw but they are too expensive. My Dad only lets me keep budgies but they are pretty cool too

  • what a beautiful bird.

  • desgraçados ela e brasileira

  • Wow he's gorgeous.

  • Damn! I want a parrot to!=(

  • i love birds. when i worked at the petstore the smaller parrots would crawl down our shirts to sleep!

  • He is beautiful!!!! When I was a kid I always begged my mom to take me to a particular pet store in Peekskill because they had a hyacinth macaw. Its name was Grapejuice. I've always been in awe of their beauty!

  • Wow! I've never seen a Hyacinth Macaw such a shocking blue colour! I guess that shows you are taking exceptional care of him and I'm surprised these birds would let you turn them on their backs.

Indigo would make some female Hyacinth very happy some day!! ;)

  • it endangered n super expensive but still there are people who want them kept. i hope it will be put to breeding program.

  • Guys, honestly. Unless this fellow was wild caught, he can't simply be "let free." Captive breds... They typically don't reintroduce well.

    Beautiful bird.

  • do hyacinths typically behave like this, or was this one young?

  • how'd you afford him? Hello? 10k atleast!

  • You should put him in a breeding program,They ARE endangered.

  • yea. i think this guy knows that. I'm quite positive that this hyacinth was born in captivity.....

  • omg, look at that magnificent blue color :O

  • ADORABLE!!! But mega expensive! I've seen them cost $30,000! But if you are an experienced parrot owner, it is always worth the price! :D

  • Beautiful... indeed, but I'd still prefer if they were on their natural habitat, with much free space to fly around and doing what they really wanna do.

  • Nice handling - having worked with macaws I find it unusual that one would be willing to be turned over on the floor and played with. How long have you had it?

  • Please !Live them alone in a florest!

  • Wow! I love the color of these guys!

  • How much did you pay for him? O.O Aren't they suppose to be like over £2500?

  • the sell for around $10,00

  • Jeez..

  • Yep..Hyacinths are the Rolls Royce of macaws

  • Yeah. Thousands. When you own one of these birds you keep in locked up inside at night too. People steal them.

  • how beautiful :)

  • D::D:D:D:D::D:D::D:D::D:D:DD;

  • what a beautiful bird
