  • But Marilla liked Gilbert! She was proud of him as her almost son.

  • @ssmbookworm She and Diana tried their best to set them up together and disapproved of Anne's other beaus. This isn't fair!

  • this is a far far far adaptation of the book.

  • Okay I figured out the makers were confused who marilla was and mrs lyndel or mrs barry

  • Uncomfortable kiss with Marilla, anyone?

  • I am glad this movie waas posted becasue I always wanted to see it, but I gotta say- it kinda sucks. The movie is not faithful to the books asn it moves along too quickly. And waht about Dianna Barry?

  • Why did they have to change it from the book? I agree that film makers tend to twist things around!

  • in the 1985 one anne and gilbert dont kiss! whyd she kiss marilla

  • in the 1985 one anne and gilbert dont kiss!

  • The 1985 film borrowed quite a bit from this one.

  • Did she just kiss her on the mouth...for that long...

    T_T Ew.

  • @KaTieZCrAZyCasTZ yes, they did!!! is that sopposed to be a sign of love ???

  • i don't like this Marilla.she's so unfeeling and unkind.......

  • 4:00 mmmmmm...4 layer cake!!!

  • wtf? marilla is a good character in the story.. this is what happens when film makers try to make a movie out of a novel.. things get twisted... i read all the anne books and i appreciate them in the way they were written..

  • @xanthique The TV-Series of 1985 is much better. It sticks more to the book acually. Plus the actors are better.

  • Sheesh, they practically make Marilla be the villain in the story.

  • @TerrasAngelsDemon You took the words right out of my mouth. Marilla is supposed to be strict, but she's also meant to be a kind person who truly has Anne's best interests at heart. I can't like this Marilla, and liking Marilla is paramount in making the story work. Part of this could be the fact that Helen Westley was used to playing cookie-cutter villains.

  • Haha, from the 1985 version it's so different! And I still can't believe Anne and Gilbert kept that a relationship a secret for so long..!
