  • There are some very old 1960-s judo wrestling in youtube watch those, that was totally different very gentle sport than todays crappy fighting thing. But in judo it does not matter whether you from japan or europe. Only one who trained most hard and cruel gets olympic fame. Many olympic training are very horrible torture according to normal human standart.

  • I know what you mean. The art of Judo has changed and has become more like power wrestling if you know what I mean. But that style of Judo seems to work also. Maybe the new rules will change it, but I doubt it.

  • Its a form of Kata guruma. I couldn't see it clearly, but i think what he did was to grip his opponents leg in another way than the standard K.-G. And he didn't throw him right over his shoulders, i think he picked him up and rolled forward.

  • yeah actually listening the commentator does say kata gurmua. Won't be one I'll be trying in the dojo tho! Can't work out how uke gets himself into that sort of mess to be picked up like that?
