The Dr.----- Still the best ever !!! Huebry Brown had A $50.00 find if you let him jump from the free throw line AND DUNK IT,---- without fouling him( CAUSE) Freedom Hall in Louisville WOULD FALL OUT----FOR THE DOCTOR J.
I remember doctor J came to my high school to speak to the students. The principal asked him if he would put his hand on a piece of regular sized school paper. He took a pencil and traced around his hand. Then he photocopied the paper with Dr. J's signature on it.
When they passed them around, we all seen that his hand didn't fit on the paper! From the bottom of his hand, the last tip of his middle fingers didn't fit on the page! Holding basketballs like tennis balls!!!!!
Nice mix, but I agree with NDMike, Doc had a windmill dunk over Bird, Robey, and Cowens that was pure art. If anyone can find that one from the Eastern Conference Finals of 1980 I would love to see it.
The Doctor...before MJ, Dominique, Kobe, VC, Lebron ..whoever...there was the Doctor..The Innovator...The Creator or the Ballin' moves all these other cats try to emulate but never duplicate! The layup vs the Lakers when he went behind the basket came from right to left, while airborn...still the greatest play in NBA history!
Very nice video. The 1 handed stab, curl behind his back and float in from the foul line for a finger-roll is my favorite. That was against the Bucks in the Playoffs. And there was the Windmill Slam Dunk on Bird, Robey & Cowens where his head was over the rim. That was in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Nobody was like the Doctor!
yeah bro that's my fave Dr. J play! where he flies from one side of the paint to the other going under the basket, he's crazy!! he should have been the slam dunk champ in '84.. if his 2nd dunk in the final rd. went in he would have been champ for sure. Dr. one of the greats!!!
The play vs the Lakers where Doc comes down the right side, goes under the backboard, and lays it in on the left side.... All while in the air. GREAT PLAY EVER in the NBA. None even close.

that reverse layup at 02:00 is as good as anything the game has seen at the time- and since then- 30 years on.
