It is amazing how Dave (with or without the Band) can give new life to most songs that doesn´t sound that good on the studio CD, in a live event. Although this was one of the few songs on the most recent albuns (Everyday and Stand Up) that I enjoyed listening to in it´s studio version, I think it gets even better when played live, solo. A nice song became a great song. I love it.
I can't speak to Dave's sex appeal, but his talent is undeniable. Amazing man.
I've been a fan since he started, while it was cool, when it wasn't, and even now when I was recently asked: "Who's Dave Matthews?" by some high school girl. Sigh.
i used to hate this song, since i heard this version i havn't stopped listening to it, learnt it on guitar and am sharing with everyone. dave, you've done it again
i think... no i know that the song is about how he felt as a younger guy and whe he says "take me back, cant catch me, cant catch me" or "bring the beat back to me again" is means when he was a kid he was invincible and he wanted the rush agin, the heart beat of the child within to over power the other parts of his life so he can feel the same way as the kid who lived inside of him!
I was always in two minds about this song on the album but as soon as I heard the acoustic version at the New Theatre Oxford that he did with Tim Reynolds, it just confirmed that it's a classic Dave track - simply incredible.
It reminds me as well of Proudest Monkey when he does it without the band, and that's one of my top 10 favs.
I really love when he plays solo. Too bad they took off the Charlie Rose performance with him playing The Stone. That one brought tears to my eyes. The other one that always gets me is when he did In My Life to the John Lennon tribute... then the tears roll down my face.
i wouldnt be peeing during this song..lol <3
