  • this is a very good song that got...kind of...ruined in the studio.

  • AND THE FIRST TIME I KISSED YOU I LOST MY LEGS

  • the most sexy man in the world...

  • My god I love him and his music.

  • The message in this song should appeal to anyone who has fond memories of their childhood...it makes me tear up too b/c it's so accurate.

  • Ain't That How It's Done?

I don't know why people hate on it.

  • UM, this song makes me wanna cry like everytime too

this song IS VERY VERY beautiful

  • i think it is a hd28, he rarely seems to use his martin md3dm i don't know why because its SICK

  • taylor 914 maybe?

  • I really didn't like this song on the album, but I'm lovin Dave rockin it by himself!! Sounds much better simplified.

  • couldnt agree more with you

  • seems ineffiecient to come tonto "old dirt hill/ dave matthews 06" to socialize. just an observation. oh and dave rules.

  • =]

    Amazing.

  • i love this song on stand up but it sounds awesome with just him

  • i never like this song on stand up, but when he does it live... props

  • Dave is classic.

  • soothing.

  • love this song

  • It is amazing how Dave (with or without the Band) can give new life to most songs that doesn´t sound that good on the studio CD, in a live event. Although this was one of the few songs on the most recent albuns (Everyday and Stand Up) that I enjoyed listening to in it´s studio version, I think it gets even better when played live, solo. A nice song became a great song. I love it.

  • i want to shower in his sweat! in his hot sticky juicy sweat!

  • ...........ew........

  • that was a joke :)

  • I saw dave solo at the 2005 farm aid. I wanted to go to this one, but could not get the day off. Too bad because i love this song!

  • I havent seen a good tab for this even on the dmbtabs site. anyone know of one?

  • I can't speak to Dave's sex appeal, but his talent is undeniable. Amazing man.

I've been a fan since he started, while it was cool, when it wasn't, and even now when I was recently asked: "Who's Dave Matthews?" by some high school girl. Sigh.

    Long live Dave Matthews! ;)

  • Dave is hot.

  • First time hearing this one solo. Good.

  • i used to hate this song, since i heard this version i havn't stopped listening to it, learnt it on guitar and am sharing with everyone. dave, you've done it again

  • MY FAVORITE SONG EVER!

  • it is amazing how much better this song is without the band

  • I made sure to pee -before- this song because it is beautiful played solo, or with Tim.

  • i think... no i know that the song is about how he felt as a younger guy and whe he says "take me back, cant catch me, cant catch me" or "bring the beat back to me again" is means when he was a kid he was invincible and he wanted the rush agin, the heart beat of the child within to over power the other parts of his life so he can feel the same way as the kid who lived inside of him!

  • mmm Sounds logical..I love this song.

  • its probably a lot more important (even to him) what it means to you, the listener or fan or whatever

  • I was always in two minds about this song on the album but as soon as I heard the acoustic version at the New Theatre Oxford that he did with Tim Reynolds, it just confirmed that it's a classic Dave track - simply incredible.

It reminds me as well of Proudest Monkey when he does it without the band, and that's one of my top 10 favs.

Just 70 days till full band in London WOOH!

  • i loved this song on ODH, and him playing it live, i think it's even better

  • where did you get these farm aid 2006 videos from?

    there like professional quality

its hard for me to listen to any other version of these songs now, not really but these are my favorite versions of all the songs

  • Reminds me of Proudest Monkey a little, when he plays it solo.

  • Wow! Nobody brings that song up. To me its one of his best pieces. He performed it in Charlotte last summer.

  • I really love when he plays solo. Too bad they took off the Charlie Rose performance with him playing The Stone. That one brought tears to my eyes. The other one that always gets me is when he did In My Life to the John Lennon tribute... then the tears roll down my face.

  • Watching this acoustic version of Old Dirt Hill solidifies my initial thought that this is one of the top 3 songs from the "Stand UP" release.

  • I concur.
