Would be great to see the original Propaghandi get back to together and tour Canada so I could finally sastify the last hunger pains of my youthful idealism.
oops, i just noticed this isn't propaghandi, oh well it's still a good band. haha i listen to another version of this song all the time but its on a random burnt cd i found in my car...my music hunt continues...
I don't care what anyone wants to label it is...I think John K. is amazing...the weakerthans are amazing...just a good band...whatever genre they are.
To all the idiot punx saying "THIS AINT PUNK, DAHHHH" HE wrote the fucking song for Propagandhi, he played the fucking bassline originally, and therefore he has played this song punk as hell. Therefore he reserves the right to play it however the hell he wants. Just proves you punks don't give a shit about half of music, the fucking songwriting. And for the record the lyrics to this song are amazing. Rock on JKS.
I remember reading somewhere that he took 80k for his rights to the prop songs...but then again they recorded anchorless...it could use some drums and strums for sure =)
because he recorded this song while with Propagandhi. You can find that much faster version on thier album "Less Talk More RocK". put out on G-7 Welcoming Commitee.
Who's that lonely fucker who keeps disliking all the videos of "Gifts"?

yeah maybe when they're all dead and it's all outdated they will get the recognition they deserve, at which point it will mean absolutely nothing.

I just happened to be in London for this show... very lucky since they never play the southern U.S.

Me too. I'm from Ohio, and I was staying just two days in London, and I was lucky enough to see them. Fantastic show.

John played this song when i saw them in Philly a year ago...I had goosebumps on the first chord. The "capacity" part was unforgettable.

This is the Weakerthans, not Propagandhi. They singer is Prop's old bassist, the band his new one. They are still Vegetarian.
Peace.
