i think you just download the Mapthis! program. I to in Aus and wanting to get this. I heard it uses the Google Earth maps so it works world wide.

yep correct, u use mapthis! and download the maps off google earth, i got it working on my psp but not exactly a big fan of it coz it takes forever to load up the satelites -_-

I just got mine today off of Ebay and it works pretty good. It takes 2 to 5 minutes to get enough satellites to make it work 100% but it's really nice.

No. Two completely different forms of communication, in fact, the antenna doesn't communicate at all. It only receives latitude and longitude information, the software does the rest. (Streets, points of interest, etc)

it work perfect on japan, but if you want to use in USA, you need to get the app for custom firmware "Map This!", or another app for maping, and download your map at google maps.
