Incorrect. Traditional koryu jujutsu is rigid and linnear, and uses lots of punches, palm strikes, kicks, knees and elbows - the more modern judo and aikido are more fluid. Ryo's throws are textbook traditional Japanese jujutsu. Yu Suzuki does his homework when it comes to Chinese Kempo and Japanese arts.

One part I don't understand is when Jianmin questions Ryo about what style he uses, Ryo replies saying he knows jiujitsu. I thought Ryo only knew Hazuki style karate? Then Jianmin says he's never heard of jiujitsu. Was Sega poking fun at jiujitsu because of it's popularity today?

I think they were. It's ironic that back in the 80's people never heard of jiujitsu until the Gracies gave it more exposure

Plus they were at Hong Kong and more Chinese martial arts were usually practiced.

Thanks. I played Shenmue 2 on both Xbox,Dreamcast version and beat it 6 times but never got into this part(the guy asked Ryo to fix the sign)
