  • Oh what ever you know what fine Ill let you deliver your personal attacks instead of telling me why my comment was "idiotic" however we can all agree that Eric Miyashiro is a BEAST and Ejiro Nakagawa is also awesome. There. End. Shut up and watch the video. This conversation is over.

  • grande assolo di baritono

  • buenisimo!!! lo mejor que he escuchado!!! todos tocan pero genial!!

  • I saw Eric when he was with Buddy Rich's band in 1985 or 86. He was fantastic back then, and you could tell by the way Buddy reacted to his solos that Buddy was quite impressed.

  • @dmreeoogdaq Ill tell ya Eric Miyashiro never seizes to amaze me :)

  • @ALPHABARISAX10 If you think that bari player sucks then you're clueless... while I'm betting DiBlasio is saying the same thing about you to his colleagues when you're not around. Unless you're out doing it yourself it's best to keep your mouth shut and demonstrate some respect.

  • @MSmithjazz first of all his solo can be more melodic. And you need to do a better job of questioning my opinion rather than personally attacking me ASSHOLE! Are you even a music educator?

  • @ALPHABARISAX10 Look tough guy, you made an idiotic comment and I replied. You got the ball rolling trying to be a showoff. Then you thought twice about being a fool then erased your primary comment. Why not get a little self control and drop the mind reading gimmick? You embarrass yourself talking like this. After hearing you play may I also suggest a little less youtube and a little more time in the practice room. Youve heard "play as cute as you talk"..right? Words to live by slick.

  • who is the pianist?

  • Far and away one of the best renditions I've ever heard.. Every musician that played along with Eric is freakin' awesome.

  • Maynard Ferguson thought him well!! Eric was once his student!

  • Holy fuck that trumpet player is clean up there!!! :O

  • Every solo in this is just wonderful. The bari, guitar, drums, T-bone, tenor, obviously Eric...everything. Fantastic.

  • i talked to him today, hes awesome.

  • I didn't even know Barrys could have soloes XD

  • @ishyboy1993 They only do if they are exceptional but that guy in my opinion sucks look up coconut champagne maynard ferguson, the guy who rips bari on that is the guy I study with

  • verdaderamente de lujo que sonido el saxo baritono sorprendente gracias x existir muchachos al escucharlos me dan aliento a seguir viviendo GUILLERMO DE SALTA ARGENTINA

  • Amazing trombone solo!

  • i wonder what mouthpiece is eric playing?

  • @snk9045 Pause at 28...looks like a Bach 7C to me o.O

  • @NatMage Nah not a 7c, but I know its not a schilke.

  • @snk9045 it's probably a custom piece. I know of very few professionals that don't play on custom pieces.

  • Oh yea... and by the way... Eric's version is WWWWWAAAAAYYYYYY better than anything Maynard ever squeaked out.

  • That trombone player... holy shit that was a---frikin----mazing.... He got to play for like 4 seconds.....

  • The skill of these guys/girls are crazy. But the thing that got me was their TONE. I mean seriously their individual sound is just amazing espcially bone and bari IMO. Great to listen to.

  • He's an amazing player. Honestly tho, if I were in his position I would get really tired of covering someone else's tunes all the time. Even if they are Maynard tunes

  • muy bueno ERIC sos un genio de la trompeta buenisimo la fusion vamos¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Eight people are cunts Eric Miyashiro is my favorite next to maynard himself and Ejiro Nakagawa is a fuckin MOnster too! I expected more from the bari, boring solo just like the piano

  • the only thing i didnt like was the guitar solo everything =epic

  • I think that this trombonist is Eijiro Nakagawa.

    I respect him.

  • @MagnumPALLMALL youichi murata

  • The trombonist is amazing!!! your improvisation is awesome!!

  • THE DRUMMER HAD THE BEST SOLO, HE SNAPPED!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  • @InTACTProduction Thank you for the compliment!

  • @Stardrums That's you? :O

  • @InTACTProduction Yes thats me

  • Great energy. Loved the solos, especially the bone!

  • i like how that was the most un stereotypical guitar player ever

  • 8 suckers have seen this video...

  • the pianist was by far the best. just kidding.

  • Eric's tone is amazing. I love when he covers Maynard tunes. He plays a lot like Maynard did when he was really young... love it.

  • a crazy trombone player!!!!

    very good a sound....

    congratulations

  • Back in the 80's I went to see a big band in Tokyo comprising the area's top session players.

It was about the same standard as a very good amateur set up.

I should have know it'd just be a question of time before that all changed.

  • 2:14

    mind=blown

  • best arrangement of this song, so many sick solo's. amazing job!!

  • Sound just like Mayard Ferguson, he is the closest thing to the greatest I have heard in decades. Smooth and clean sound.

  • Vlado Kumpan RULEZ!!!

  • oh my god that tenor sax solo kicked ass.

  • After that t-bone solo, I needed to get a new pair of pants

  • @mywhalefartssmellbad AGREED!! O.O!!

  • Oh I agree and the band is awesome

  • Eric Myashiro FTW!!!!

  • Great player--agreed he doesn't have the facility of range that MF did, but he has a tight sound that I really enjoy. I could never stand the shakes...:-/

  • is that not a bari sax solo?

  • @meha101 IT DOES NOT MATTER!!!!!!

  • I love the tenor sax, it so awesome

  • go tenor

  • I almost shit my pants after hearing the tenor sax solo.

  • Trombone solo was awesome

  • The tenor sax solo gave me a 5 second boner...Amazing.

  • @ranger2l how that funny how it can happen.

  • yeah the berklee performance was sick

  • C'est vraiment bon!!!!

  • @Lace345 yeah i met him at Berklee too... I also met the bass player. Both were really cool dudes and rediculous musicians. "Give it one" was crazy

  • Trumpet, Large im doing the small next year along with the large, and divison 4

  • very nice, you guys win in your division?

  • Comment removed

  • i met this guy today at berklee and had the pleasure of hearing him play "give it one" getting his autograph and shaking his hand

  • @Lace345 berklee jazz fest? WASN'T HE FRIGGIN AMAZING?!?!

  • @strezzedoutz dude he was phenomenal

  • @strezzedoutz and yes the jazz fest

  • Do you know what songs the Crescent Super Band were playing? the only one I knew of were What is Hip? by the TOP. o.o

  • @strezzedoutz not at all that march thing was one i never heard of, the one eric was on tho is called give it one, and then idk the rest.

  • man it was a killing band with killing arrangements.

  • @strezzedoutz yea man i was one of the guys bowing at the end of the performance lol

  • REALLY I saw that and i was laughing really hard! but it wasn't without good reason of course :) what school were you from?

  • @strezzedoutz lmao west warwick high. dude that performance was just crazy. what school were u from

  • i'm an alumnus from the Boston Latin School. I was there watching they're big band play. What do you play? was it for the combo or large ensemble? and what division?

  • @strezzedoutz sadly no

  • Ain't a slacker amongst this group. Asian Maynard? Why ya wanna call that card? I guess the jew "Patric H."isn't bad, but his sound is so freakin muddy and imprecise....

Eric is at this point the "cleanest" bugler blowin' to date.. Possibly Wayne Bergeron may be close?

    fukin naysayers..

  • hahahahaha the dude at the end.....

  • u wanna talk about trombone solos? look up mnozil brass

  • @Guitrumpet17 agreed

  • second best trombone solo ive heard. (superbones dont count in this one)

  • kinda yeah, very nice.

  • I was going to say, he sounds like an Asian version of Maynard when he was at the top of his game.

  • Eric is good, but all I ever hear him play is Maynard tunes and show themes. I'll trade high notes for music any day.

  • @womb0womb0 true, true. even better is if he can do what maynard did and convert popular songs into big band pieces

  • then buy the cd ''kick up''. he plays songs you have never heard before(i think) on that cd

  • Cool. Will check it out, thanks

  • 3:12 nice support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO ERIC

  • Este trombonista é demais.....

  • when the bari. sax solo comes in i feel like i'm flying, the trombone, I'm on a motor cycle, and when Eric's playing I turn super saiyan. inspiring stuff.

  • I hear a win coming from this arrangement

  • Some nice supporting solos- Mr Nakagawa's turn on trombone is The Stuff. Nice tenor on that ancient piece also!

  • freakin BEAST on Trumpetroids.

    0:15 crazy

  • Great vid man!

  • i wouldnt say that this type of playing isnt good for ya, i mean, if you think about it look at how much deep, i mean really deep breathing you do just to play like these guys do, its nuts

and i love the feeling you get from those notes that those trumpet players hit when all the hair on the back of ur neck stands up... amazing =P

  • this way of playing doesn't look very healthy ;-)

    but it's fuckin crazy!

  • I saw Eric in a small club with Buddy Rich in the mid-eighties several times. What a Bitch!

  • Flawless Trumpet! Excellent performance. I love to see performances with trumpet that portray hair raising feelings!

  • the trombonist and the trumpet is so good

  • I PISSED MYSELF AT 2:51 AAHHHHH OMFG!!! LOVE IT!!!

sorry lost it a bit there

  • this is one of MF's best lead players. its amazing!

  • sorry to burst your bubble but eric miyashiro was never with ferguson. he was just a guest soloist at times

  • This is weird. White and uptight.

  • "Wierd and uptight"?!?! You don't know what you're talking about kiddo. :-)

Probably way before you were born, but this arrangement of this song made the Billboard Charts and was nominated for a Grammy.

  • wowzers... i is amazed to the max. lol they're all beasts

  • Awsome band! some really good solos too...

  • that trombonist is so good, i love him ^^

  • asian's rocks ;;;!!!

    cool vid

  • This is an AMAZING solo!!!!! 2:38

  • Awesome...Eric might not have the same consistent "working" range as Maynard, but his sound has similar energy and fullness. I definitely enjoy listening to him cover Maynard tunes. The trombonist was real funky, a pleasure to listen to as well as the others. It's great to see that Maynard's influence has spread globally; even though he isn't here in the flesh, he'll still live on through others for many years to come.

  • @diaznutz well said bro :)

  • Amazing Composition!!...truly loved it...specially the guitar part!!!....5/5...cheers!

  • whats up with the pictures?

  • I thought i heard it all, with the trumpet screams and crazy fast solo's but that trombone player just fricken blew my mind

  • wow, the trombone player impressed me most. though the other solos were just as well!

  • thats why Rurouni Kenshin OVA kicked arse.

  • that were kick-ass solos... omfg!

  • Man, I just can't say enough about that trombone player.

Fantastic, classic sound. VERY well in tune, and great ideas played on a very hard instrument to solo well on.

One of the best trombone players I have ever heard ~

  • Better than MF that is

  • I don't know shit about trumpet or trumpetplaying. But doesn't Eric have a heck of a better sound-quiality in his tone?

  • Comment removed

  • Eijiro Nakagawa

  • Just heard Eric live with the Edinburgh International Jazz Orch. Bloody amazin!

  • that was crzy good :)

  • holy shit

  • the band is TIGHT!! nasty musical solos!!!! perfect (except that last note)

  • what's wrong with the last note?

  • 日本人もブラスセクションが以前に比べたらすごく良くなってる。聴いてて楽しいね♪

  • It's so funny to watch asian people play windinstruments. They play it so great and they look so funny doing it :D

  • WAYNE-NARD ALL THE WAY

  • Arturo Sandoval is better!

  • Freaking crazy trombone player.

  • wow !! amaizing !!!

    increible !!!

  • Maynard WAYYYYYYYYY better

  • Plus, that Nip on trombone is really in tune, unlike many "pro" trombonists I've heard. He has a great, classic trombone sound, as well.

That is one talented Jap, daddy-o ~

  • Man Daddy-0; Eric is an artist not a participant in a fashion show-

  • Be original - don't copy. It's childish.

And, one can be both an artist and present themselves well onstage.

    Look at Wynton - always in a nice suit. . . .end transmission . . . . .

  • Man daddy-0, these Nips are really cooking along.

Super excellent trombone solo. Great ideas and technique on a very hard instrument to solo well on.

However, I'm a little put off by Eric's transvestive-crossdresser look, but hey, that's just me ~
