Donald Vails came to Indianapolis In and taught this song to members of In The Rapture Choir, with director Bro. Hatcher director in 1976 and I was just a teenager but we learned this song on the first try. At that Reheasal the place was filled with the power of the Holy Ghost Thanks Rev Vails.
I sure wish I'd kept a journal of my years in Detroit. I was known as Doris Roberson and one of the original founders of the Donald Vails Choraleers. Was also a member of the original St. James Adult Choir. Close friends with Donald and with Charles Nicks as well. We sure did have some magnificent times back then.
@MsDorez , What ever happened to the Choir and Rev Vails. Iloved the choir and the music blew me away and developed my faith Christ thank you for being one of the original member you was the best.
Oh my goodness. I led this song at my church several times. I was fresh out of high school. Thank you, Johnzoe777 for this upload! I haven't heard it since the late 70's. I "powered" my choir till they were going hoarse. I love it!!
@NoahHam40 Memories memories memories, that's all we have, because church, music,choirs,etc..... are not the same but when we think of the goodness of Jesus and all he has done for us, we can shout hallelujah, and go back in time for a few seconds and give a one of those old school praise. I wish we can all go back to the old landmark and stay in the service of the Lord.
THEY DONT HAVE NONE OF dONALD vAIL SONGS ON rHAPSODY. MY HEART IS FILL WITH TEARS OF JOY I REMEMBER ALL THE ALBUMS MY MOM BROUGHT AND A FEW OF DONALD vAIL SONGS SHE LED WITH gREATER mOUNTAIN vIEW, dETROIT, mI. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this one!! I've been looking for this one for years!! I used to have the album a long time ago. I remember doing an arrangement of this song for my high school choir in 1977....
i was a teenager when this was released and i remember hearing this album and having church in my car. while there is good music today it does not compare to the music we grew up on. God bless you for blessing us by sharing this with us. takes you back to the days when you had to sing for real, no machines, no going into the studio dubbing over tracks, no mixing tracks, filtering voices, none of that...you had to sing for real the first time.
Daaang...I feel like crying. I remember this song & This Whole Church Choir Sound & the way it made me feel in church as a child..
My Mom used to Play this Album in our house when My Father , WHo was The devil, Would be outta the house. I tell you YOUTUBE is 1 of the Greatest Websites EVER! How else would I have heard this..
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU For posting this.....
This was the best choir back in the day in Michigan. If Donald Vails was in the house, you always took the back seat. I remember around 1969 being with Jimmy Dowell and Jimmy Dowell Singers on a program with Donald Vails and the Choraleers. We were awe struck just to be in the company of Donald Vails because he was untouchable. He and Jimmy were multi talented choir directors. Donald was awesome on piano. Jimmy was good as well but both were great teachers.
You are so right! Donald Vails and Rance Allen singing at St. James Baptist with Rev. Charles Nicks and at Little Rock Baptist Church were some of the best gospel concerts ever.
Prasie The Lord For My Mentor Rev. Donald Raymond Vails!....This is nothing but Classic Gospel, at it's best. I was given given the chance to be a lead vocalist w/ Donald Vails & The Voices Of Deliverance. And look out in the year of 2009, for the Tribute Project in his honor. It was recorded on Sept. 13, 2008. Produced By Rudolph Stanifield. It a wonderful project w/ the reunion of all of his choirs. They are now known as Carol Cole & One Voice,
I am so glad that you posted this Donald Vails recording!!!! I remember this album from back in the day. I only wish I could get the words to "In Deep Water." I think I saw it in a songbook (written by Dr. Margaret Pleasant Douroux) somewhere.
Who is the blessed person? LOL :)The same thing happen to me I loaned out Benny Cummering and The Kings Temple and they destroyed it,I can still fell the pain of that.LOL
