Hey Starshine again :-) Thanks for that! I love Pat's and gang's music. I really adored their songs. Even though I sing and worship along with Hillsongs etc...my first preference is the folk sound that they had so much of...
I have to say this was never one of my favorites of Pat's but I like it here. Ok - I like it much better. Never thought I'd say that about another artist performing Pat Terry!
Thanks for your loving emotions for that time in each of our lives that were there. It was such a powerful powerful time, to get to hear and participate in the creative time of the Holy Spirit's expression with these songs. I'll try to do a few more of those ones...I also love a lot of what our Holy Spirit is doing these days, too, in our lives. Blessings, and more love and more power in our lives! Go Lord Jesus! :-)
Thanks, Analynnvic. Man, I try to be positive about the current time, but tbh it's not easy. Of course I know that there are some xlnt Christians today, and that many 'back in the day' didn't turn out to be so great in the long run. But even so, as you know, the sweet visitation that swept America (& beyond) over 30 years ago was something special, and, for many of us, life-changing. I think it's natural to miss that, but at the same time I agree w/you that we must look forward (unto Jesus).
I won't try to wax eloquent, but the Christian music that arose spontaneously in the 70's was one of the most beautiful happenings in my lifetime. So pure, so earnest, so non-commercial. And (most of all) so anointed.
I feel both sad and (to be frank) angry that I can't get the old Pat Terry Group albums on CD. I'd better sign off before I start getting really bitter.
God bless all those who were a part of those precious times -- artists & audience.
Hello, I too saw these guys several times in the late 70's and was influenced by their music. I have posted a "how to" video showing the Intro to "I can't wait" seeing as how several people had commented about it. I really love your rendition of "Seen it now", and hope that you don't mind me "advertising" here. I too would love to hear you do "I can't wait" so maybe my post will help if you don't already know how to play it.
I was privileged to see them in concert about 4 times, and also at the Ellis/Metro Bible Study. I have all of Pat's albums, including the custom album with the elementary school drawings on it. I did get my copy of Songs Of The South transferred to CD.
Worshipping with Pat, Sonny and Randy at Metro Bible Study at Griffin Middle School and a few other churches was one of my fondest memories of my late teen years.
Wow, me too. I used to have the albums. But moving to England sort of changed my stock of things! Remember, 'I can't wait to see Jesus'...? Isn't that the one that starts out, 'Just as the lightening comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so shall the coming of the son of man be, so put on your Sunday best'...hehe
You are right about those words being the start of 'I can't wait to see Jesus'. They did some sort of benefit concert just 2 or 3 years ago in the Atlanta area. I didn't learn of it until long after it happened. Would have been awesome to see them together. I have all their albums & have had them transferred to CD. Still some of the most stirring and sensitive "Jesus Music" out there. Would love to hear more of your covers. Thanks!
Awesome... I miss Pat Terry's music. "I Can't Wait to See Jesus" or "JESUS." He was at a Christian retreat with us near Myrtle Beach back in the early 80's. His music has stayed in my mind and heart for all those years. I know you must be a blessing to your church with your music ministry!
Shame, yes. And there doesn't seem to be any way to get hold of his old recordings...would love for them to be remastered. Loved those guys...Randy, Sonny; I remember them from an Atlanta Bible study.
I too loved The Pat Terry Group. His music shaped my walk with the Lord when I was in High School and College. As a matter of fact, I HAVE his old albums.
Absolutely beautiful. Is there any way that you can record some more songs from 'The Pat Terry Group'? I would love it and I am sure many others would appreciate hearing the Pat Terry songs again.
Brings back great memories and applies in an ongoing way, huh? He's becoming a part of everything we are in new and different ways all of our lives as we become more like Him.

Nice job sister . Do you remember Fool's Wisdom by Pat Terry? If you do, can you play it?

Fool's Wisdom was by Malcolm & Alwyn from the UK

Nice. I asked Pat just a couple of months ago if he had any video recordings of the PTG and unfortunately he knows of none. It's a shame.

The Atlanta Bible study! My parents attended the Atlanta Bible study with the Pat Terry Group and then moved back up to Philadelphia...

As a follow-up to my last comment, I would personally request your version of "I Can't Wait to See Jesus," by 'The Pat Terry Group.'
