  • looks like they could do with some tarmac

  • The Gap road is still open, I have done it myself 3 times this year. Its open from the 1st of Sept untill the 15th of Oct and from the 29th of Feb untill the 31st of Mar and only to be driven in one direction, from Neuadd reservoir end towards Brecon. The national park reps may tell you its closed but as long as the sings showing the TRO are still in place there is nothing they can do as long as your between the dates indicated. If you do go please respect the area or it will end up closed.

  • many of the RUPPs that i used to ride my motor bike on are now totally impassable to anything, even walkers...what a waste,my bike is now just sat in the garage doing nothing

  • The Gap road is still open but only at certain times in the year,i did it earlier this year 2009 in a Disco without any problems. The adrenalin rush is fantastic. Its such a pity that we have to as an organised group, repair damage that other drivers and riders have made and also collect the littler thrown out by the walkers to this beautiful area of the country-this was witnessed by us.

  • The Gap was a RUPP, now a Restricted Byway, so closed permanently to vehicular traffic. It's a great shame.

DL plate - that 110 was originally registered on the Isle of Wight then :-)

  • this right of way is open for a limited time of the year

    march to sept i think

  • When you say permanently closed, is it locked gates or what? im only curious and think its a shame places like these are now abandoned. Do you come down to cornwall at all?

  • Permantly closed. Thats a big shame!! I did it a few years back in my Hilux when it was only open for a couple of months of the year. I was really hoping to go back. Good vid.

  • where exactly in south wales was this filmed?

  • On the Gap Road and the Strata Florida both in the Brecons South Wales.

The Gap Road is now permanently closed to vehicles but the Strata Florida is a regular byway (but I wouldn't try it right now as the river levels are very high indeed.)
