Why do you insist on calling Christa Jacobson Chris? I just seems like a blatant case of transphobia, which is no more acceptable than homophobia, sexism, racism etc.
@scottbaioisdead Yes, I know this. But this person clearly, CLEARLY no longer wants to identify as a male.Look, whatever you think of Christa's ninjutsu credentials is irrelevant to this and does NOT excuse such obvious transphobia. So legally there's no Christa, who cares??! This person clearly wants to identify as female, and this should be respected. Just because something is legally the case doesn't make it right.Remember slavery was legal! (BTW, I know or care nothing about her ninjutsu...)
@skitsystem77 yes but they also clearly want to identify as the head of a ninjutsu school, which they are not. the basis of the mythology chris provided was that his teacher wanted to pass the art on to a woman. chris was not a woman at the time of this claimed exchange, his sex is a strong part of the mythology and the fact it's not what he claims is a piece of the puzzle and should be shown. if you haven't noticed i'm a libertarian and support everyones rights, but not liars.
@poodle8noodle Togakure is an old pronunciation of Togakushi, which is a region in Japan that does in fact exist. The Kanji are the same, only the pronunciation is different. The meaning of Togakure is "Hidden Door". The meaning however of Tomo is more elusive. Not positive on the meaning, but I know they're different. Tomoryu is listed in historical documents as related to Ninjutsu, but to my knowledge there are no records showing it's lineage to modern times. It's a dead school!
@ExposeChosunNinja Yes, Togakushi sits on the shores of Lake Nojiri in Nagano. In fact, the Lake Nojiri and Togakushi village in Nagano are a recreation of the same site found in Kyushu. The original lake Nojiri (in Kyushu) has the actual cave that Amaterasu hid inside. The name Togakushi refers to Amaterasu hiding behind the large stone door to the cave.. thus "hidden behind the door". Later, in Nagano, the named a lake Lake Nojiri and the village Togakushi..
@ExposeChosunNinja ... and the village host a shrine to Amaterasu up in a cave, which is a "stand-in" for the original cave back on Kyushu. The entire Lake Nojiri / Togakushi area is a "stand-in" for the Amaterasu hiding in the cave event. --- so, its not a Region, but an actual town built around a recreation (stand-in like effigy) for the original shrine... and it sits on Lake Nojiri in Nagano. That is the meaning of the name. If you already knew, then cool.
@ExposeChosunNinja Yes, the mountain is a mountain that is on the shoreline of Lake Nojiri.. it sits on Lake Nojiri.. the town is there in the "foothills" and into the mountain. The Togakushi Shrine is actually a three piece shrine.. it starts on the ground and you walk up stairs (up the mountain side) to get to the second and third parts.
@ExposeChosunNinja Too bad, because until he monitors every comment, I'm here for the long haul. Other people need to know not to buy from him if he can't send me my merchandise.
@nihonknives Whatever man. I guess this is your ball and chain to drag around. Just don't expect everyone here to help you carry it! I have been ripped off before with online purchases. Yeah it sucks, but I chock it up to bad decision making on my part, learn from it, and move on. So should you!
@nihonknives - For F**k sakes man. If you're unhappy with the service you got from Dean, take it to the Better Business Bureau, or whatever there is where you're at, but quit forcing your shit on everyone else who comes to Dean's videos! Your issue is with him, not all of us. Correct? So why do you have to drag all of us into it? Leave us out of it please. We're not interested in your problems!
Anyone on his facebook can see you are full of shit. WHEN A CUSTOMER ASKS YOU A POLITE SIMPLE QUESTION, RESPOND. It's not rocket science. His happo shuriken he sent me were subpar. Far from quality, but I ordered the juji anyways. You call me a stalker, but you are the one all over his balls. Stalking and wanting your items / money back from a thief = two different things. What about the other 3 - 4 people on facebook who were complaining also? They have yet to receive there items as well.
@nihonknives Some? I'm friends with Scott on FB, you spammed every post and image, and made a group about him. Sorry, but you were being an asshole. You've ordered from him before, you should know he delievers the product. Like I said I JUST got mine recently, but I know he has a hard time with supplies, I can either wait for Scott's quality product or pay 10x the price in Japan. Seriously man, you look like a stalker.
@DoujouYaburi continued. You spam his Facebook, his YouTube Channel, and all his videos? Then you wonder why someone doesn't respond to you? I know Scott will get your items to you, hopefully you won't order from him again, if I was a business owner no amount of money would be worth having a customer like you.
@DoujouYaburi I ordered 4 juji shuriken from him and traded 2 rare shuriken videos he didn't have for a Houzan book and some shodo. Here is the last conversation I had with him before he ignored my questions and deleted my posts:
postimage(dot)org/image/7o44uu5on/
Notice he will delete this comment like he did the other one when I posted this image. **cough Christa cough** Before you say it was probably my attitude, I was the nicest I could be to someone who has your money for several months.
@nihonknives Oh you're the guy who spammed every post of his on facebook, after he nicely stated it takes a long time to have the shuriken made? You know Suzuki-sensei lives in Japan, Scott can't just walk over for shodo. The nicest you could be...yea sure. I really don't know how Americans and Japanese can be so different when it comes to things like this. I've ordered from Scott 3 times, I've waited a while twice, but I'm always impressed with the product.
@SweergrassScout When you purchase something and the seller doesn't send the purchased item to you, that will make you unpopular a little quicker. If you couldn't tell that was a stab at Dean by the way. I was dumb enough to think that Adam Davis was at fault back when he made shuriken for Dean, but now I sincerely doubt it. Maybe partially, but I could see Dean just keeping the products and not sending any money.
@nihonknives What exactly did you order from Scott? Who are you? I ordered shuriken from Scott a few months ago and just received them, with a few extra items. He told me his producer only makes about 100 per week and Scott received orders for more than 2000 shuriken, thats a lot of weeks. Guess you people don't actually practice "ninjutsu" the art of PATIENCE.
@nihonknives I am not talking about Dean and his business. I was talking about HNRT and the shit we catch for distinguishing between bullshit ninja fantasy and actual Japanese history (or anybody else who presents accurate authentic Japanese history). 95% of the "ninja community" wants bullshit and the role of the historian is to present facts and real history... which means that a historian immediatly finds himself in opposition to the fantasy, and thus becomes unpopular very fast.
@ExposeChosunNinja I dont know, but "ninjutsu" certainly summons forth the nutjobs. I think the state of the field (lack of understanding and lack of historical information,etc.etc.) allows nutjobs to conjure up fake schools and live out their meglomaniac fantasies. Hopefully, with the combined effort of historians and sincere practioners, we can weed out and do away with these malicious frauds.
@ExposeChosunNinja But-- I guess the "image" of the "ninja" (which is wrong, of course) allows people to live out dark fantasies without having to answer for their actions... its that whole "living a double life, hiding behind a mask, living in the shadows" bullshit. Plus, most akaneshaut are suckers for "ancient japanese secret school" bullshit too.. So, I think the nature of the misunderstanding of ninja allows them a medium to express their neurosis..
@ExposeChosunNinja Also, they naturally flock to ninja because they are too chicken shit to try to flock to "scouts" .. haha... But I think that the distance between Japan and the USA has, until recently, given them enough space to engineer their bullshit. When people try to mimic NDN stuff, we generally show up at their front door. So, I think the distance of Japan (physically, socially, and culturally) allows them to prey on the shinobi legacy.
@SweetgrassScout I'm more concerned about the good people that they're preying on! That's why as of late I've stopped being nice and cordial to them. No one is going to get any ego stroking from me anymore unless they really deserve it! I don't imagine it's going to make me very popular, but I don't really care. I've spent the last 23 years of my life being unpopular in the eyes of the people I'm sworn to help, so it's nothing new for me!
@ExposeChosunNinja So much bullshit in the "ninja community" and showing reality makes you unpopular real fast. I'd say 85-95% of the ninja community wants to be involved in "ninjutsu" for the neurotic reasons.. which means that "helping them" generally involves crushing their fantasy and leading them away from ninjutsu in the end--- because 95% of ninja community does not want authentic shinobi-no-jutsu... its an odd dynamic enit?
I remember at one point you condemned them for deleting comments and you said yourself how you would never do that and when I pointed out how you YOURSELF committed fraud you deleted my comment HAHA. Lame sir, lame.
Do a vid on Kawakami and his claim. He claims Tomo ryu aswell (indirectly of course) Also, Seiko can be put there as the first claiment for fake Koka ryu. Idiot was walking on water and could not even read his own manual. But heho. Jolly good. Glad you are back dean. Tomo ryu pops up here and there in history but why does everyone want to be a grandmaster? I want to state that i am NOt a supporter of Kawakami, but i am not 100% sure he has nothing real, i know he has lots of strange stuff.
@TSOAS2008 Scott did a video on Kawakami a while ago I think, when that seminar went on in America. It was taken down for "copyright". Duncan, Jacobson, Kawakami, Park all like to silence their critics, ILLEGALLY, that way.
@DoujouYaburi remeber i had "This is Not ninjutsu" taken down, same thing from the Bujinkan, but yes i agee the fuads get angry. Bujinkan was at the top of annger list. But i have had a lot of dealings with Kawakami and wondering if dean had anymore info than i have at the min.
@TSOAS2008 What's your opinion on Kawakami? I think you did a video of him but I never got to watch it. You can be brief, I just wanted to know what you found out about him.
@ninpo4life He teaches lots of real ninjutsu, no doubt there, but then he starts hitting his students with Iron Lung Kung Fu and passes it off as ninjutsu, then Kiai power and the age old shuriken and straight sword (no connection to ninja). Also, half of his stuff is research, not Kuden, so where does lineage and research end? And why the sterotypes, beteer than Bujinkan as a lineage but still strange. Too many warning flags.
your the inheriter of tomo ryu, not to be rude, but doesnt that sound a bit out there?

@BuffonSarutobi Techincally, Togakushi means "Hidden behind the Door"-- a reference to Amaterasu's hiding behind the stone slab while in the cave.

@DoujouYaburi Not quite. Me and a few other guys who weren't hearing anything from him posted some. You are wrong on so many levels.
A) Dean claimed to ALREADY HAVE the book and shodo. Houzan sending anything wasn't in the mix.
B) If you read the image, you would see he was going to send it out that wed or thurs.
C) I've ordered shuriken from him before. The time before this it took about 3 weeks, not 9 months.
Ask Dean if he has ever had legal action against him for this? I know this one.
