@Wouter112 You're right....for 99% of the nation. FDNY classifies its type of alarms by "Class" Certainly they use the same type of Class system for building construction as the rest of us do...but they just call their AFAs "Class 3"
@ATFDFF Thats incorrect. In the FDNY a class 3 means it is a non-fireproof building. Type of incident is called with 10 code's but only as a final signal. The dispatcher announce's the call with AFA automatic alarm (or pull alarm enz enz)
Class 3 in this case is for a fire alarm. Class 3 is also used for the type of building.

Class 3 just means what kind of building it is. What are they responding to? AFA, structure fire, gas leak?
