The elevators in the Prudential Tower here in Boston used to have those exact gold panels of touch buttons with green halos. They (and ELD displays) were installed when the elevators was modernized in 1986. The elevators were modernized again in 2008 and the panels are now brushed silver with series 2 buttons.

Heat-sensitive buttons went with the Dodo Bird in the '70's. They bring them back, or are they just very shallow buttons?

These are "touch" buttons from the very late '80's. MusicfreakCC has an office building in Miami, with Schindler "touch" buttons too. (I think those are from the '90's.)

Then again, if you think about it, so long as the hall stations don't have them, there really isn't an issue for fire safety. I thought they'd never use them again, after so many people got trapped in them during infernos.
