I know that this would be like a very basic question for someone such as yourself. But I have always found it very difficult to blend tones/colours to achieve realistic lighting effects. It always ends up looking like a terrible mess. And instead of a soft graduation from light to dark, mine always looks bad and I give up. So, how do you do it!!!

great! Your materials seem to be very much suited to paint very softly ie, with no visible touch. What support/brushes/medium do you use?
