i have been a steve camp fan for more than two decades. this song (and the entire album) was a wake up call to the church. its focus is social justice with an emphasis on those suffering with HIV/AIDS. this particular montage shows AIDS sufferers in Africa and the associated orphans. I'm bothered that I didn't see any "flaming" gay-rights types, with or without AIDS. That was the original intent of this single.

What a wonderful thing to have compassion: being able to feel the pain for the oppressed and the oppressor, and not be judgemental but have conviction to pray for both, and LOVE both the same regardless! I have always loved this song because I work in the field of chemical dependency. I disagree with the part of the video that says drunkedness is a sin and not a disease. That's always been one of my issues with folks calling themselves Christians with the judgemental attitudes. We need your love, compassion and prayers...not to be judged. "Can you love us back to life again?"

It is amazing how this song seems so real today as we learn more about each other. But is it the right question? Can we show them joy. The joy of finding Jesus and having the eternal relationship with the one who made them.  Those little boys with smiles in the middle of the caos of the refugee camp reminded me of this simple truth.

Man has a free will. Man chooses to do evil. Much suffering is caused by our own actions. God doesn't control us like robots. There's personal responsibility for our own actions. Sin is reality. But there is forgiveness in Christ. Drug addicts can be set free by the power of God. Those bound by alcohol can become clean and sober, the homeless and hungry can find help through loving, caring Christians. Leporsy can be cured. The elderly can find hope. You blame God, but are you doing anything?

Greatly appreciate your comment. Most of today CCM is fluff and puff. Cotton Candy for the brain! A lot of marketing, money, and showmanship. BUT little heart theology and a passion for God's holiness. Many of those songs have no substance because the singers have no sustance. Entertainment has taken over the church.
