Not much to say about Austin, been here since I was 14, now many years have past. Nothing to do if your under 21, and nothing grown up to do if your over 31, except for the workout scenery, nothing doing. Me and the wife zip up to Dallas for more upscale entertainment and dining. Shopping is abysmal unless you are a bankrupt, burned out, baby-boomer hippie, this town is worthless. All the hassle of living in a big city, none of the benefit. Much smack talk, but nobody here has anything going on.
I was born raised and still live in Los Angeles and my mom brother and I are thinking about moving to Austin. Im hearing good and bad things but mostly good.
I need help!
im going to miss the beach for sure but Austin has Lake Travis.
Hey there is awesome band that relocated to Austin you may have seen them their albumn is named after the streets in Austin 6th and brazos they are called OLIVER BLACK their single is called DON'T WANT YOU BACK. You guys may have seen them live if you live there , check out their video here on you tube. Austin Rocks!

This video does NOT make me want to go to Austin. This video makes me want to cut off the mullet of the maker of this video and kick in the doors of their 1984 Subaru. I guess I'm a little irritated. :)
Wow I suppose you must be irritated. Enough to sign on to YouTube to post your message. You got everything wrong, of course. but then that's probably not a first for you. That's the spirit, keep trying.
Yeah.. I used canned music from iMovie or something. Funny thing, I heard it on another video just recently. Makes me cringe nowadays, but at least I'm not infringing on somebody's copyright in this video...
hi, i am from chile and planning to do my mba on UT at Austin, is it a good place to study ? is it cheap to live ? is it a fun place ? thank you very much in advance and regards.
I visited the UT-university about 4 years ago, but was unable to go up into the clock-tower,where the shooting occured, because it was closed to the public. I've read that they have opened it and closed it several times, that I lost count already, lol
yeah, austin is awesome. i moved here from NYC, its way more chill, and if you like live music we have something like 500 that play every night. Three is alot of green area inside the city, we have the green belt, and town lake, which has a running trail around it, and if your interested in rowing you can do that too. Barton springs in the summer time, yeah, its a good place to live.
Because... I had taken the video and I wanted to try my hand at some video software... and because I likea Austin. - and this street, too. Notice it's mostly the north side of the street.;o)
I love Austin Texas!!!!

Ignore killerdeez's comment. He doesn't know what he's talking about.
Austin is awesome and has PLENTY of things to do regardless of your age.
Youd have to be a complete spud or a yuppie to prefer shopping and dining in Dallas over Austin.

How is Austin's public transport? Do you have to have a car? I live in Atlanta, where transport is amazing, both the buses and rails.
Moving to Austin in couple weeks.
Thanks.
absfreakaditi 2 years ago
transportation isnt as good as MARTA is, but the buses are reliable and get you where you need to go. here its either buses or taxis

Nice Miami Vice music, you'd think a video on Austin would have some decent music.

Well, downtown is expensive, but I got a pretty decent deal up in Jollyville. $450/month with 2 roomies; nice and expansive apartment.

Austin seems like a great place. I'm in the North East and wouldn't mind living in Austin especially considering how cheap it is to live there!
