TURTLES ARE CONSTANT SCAVENGERS WHICH MEANS THEY ARE ALWAYS ON THE HUNT FOR FOOD, AS SAFE PRACTICES YOU SHOULD NEVER KEEP THEM WITH ROCKS SMALLER THAN THEIR HEADS!! I own two red eared and it gets lodged in their intestinal tract if they accidentally swallow it.
