Yep, I recognize the Buccaneer Motel :) I like riding up the whole stretch of this road, when I go down in the first weekend in May for a week.

@Martobx know what you mean. My grandfather ran a country store his whole working life and I still remember how much stuff he had. Before Walmart, country stores were king.

26 days and I'll be there again for my 12th time. It's great seeing that no matter how bad the hurricanes are that Wink's is still there. That place has been there before I was even born. Can't wait to take that drive off US 158 onto Beach Road all the way to our hotel at MP 15.5 in Nags Head again.

@Mahleebee123 When I am there I go to Wink's every morning for coffee and a paper. The Outer Banks is the greatest place in the world in the summer. We go every summer for a couple of weeks at Seascape. Only a hop, skip & jump from VB.

When you drive on the beach road do not go under 35. You should go 40 or you will piss off all of the locals. Me being one of them.

@grenade252 4o is okay with me and since not many cops in KH/KDH/NH, you won't get caught unless you run over a tourist and they are all over the roads. I'm not exactly local but pretty close.

@vbdenny my comment was more stated to anyone who watches the video. You won't get pulled unless you do 10 over. I pass cops all the time on the beach road doing 40-42.

@grenade252 Oh I know since I've done the same thing. Pretty good cops for the most part and they don't screw with you unless you do something really stupid. I am pretty nice though and stop to let tourists cross the street. I figure I can sit there with my A/C blowing cold, tunes on and wait while they carry their sweaty and sandy butts across the 100 degree road.

@auggieben We just got back from a week in Kitty Hawk yesterday. Nice weather, hot and humid. The water temperature was right at 57F. most of the week.

I was down there this summer but we were in Duck. I'd say the beaches there are way smaller, especially at high tide.  I have some high tide video that I didn't post. Kind of depressing

have a great time.  If you are staying by Kitty Hawk, check out Hurrican Mo's restuarant around MP 2.5 by the Black Pelican. Fast service (we sat right down), cheap(er) prices, great food, and excellent service. Three of us got outta there for $85 and that included several cocktails.

Thanks for posting! I love the Outer Banks. I took a quick drive up there last November and really enjoyed the scenery. I hope to make it up there again sometime soon.
