  • lol a 0/1 Tarmogoyf.

  • Someone needs to make a tutorial on how to shuffle your hand like Micheal does... it looks cool. I can't figure it out! >.>

  • The incinerate didnt killt he goyf o.O there was "instant, sorcery, creature" in the graveyard the time the state based effects are checked again... and the goyf is 3/4 o.O fail

  • @TheDoomToaster Not true. He did it in response to the Primal Command, and state based effects would get checked before the Primal Command resolved to go to the graveyard. It would only be a 2/3, and would die to the lethal damage.

  • Where can you get that kind of playmat?

  • woal these guys are slow at magic

  • man the thing where the guy on the right does with the card and his fingers is so annoying.

  • I know it's like nails on a chalkboard for most people. I never get brave enough to ask why they do it so often. On that topic putting a deck sideways is just a stupid way to make yourself feel better, because it doesn't change anything.

  • BottledFairie, actually, putting your deck sideways makes it easier to draw, and less likely that your opponent will accidentally see the card you draw.

  • Well, that's an odd insecurity, I've never had that problem in my life. Whatever, it's their preference, and I've changed my opinion over sideways decks over the last 5 months, it's understandable.

  • Have you ever been in a stressful situation and rocked back and forth or side to side or cracked your knuckles or any other distraction? How bout playing in the finals for a large cash prize? lol. I find myself doing this at FNM... I couldn't imagine how hardcore it would be at Nationals.

  • Shuffling your hand at all times is a tactic too make sure your oponent dosent loose track of your hand. Dumbass..

  • Really I look at my opponents hand all of the time.

  • why is he shuffling his hand so much ... calm down!

  • He didn't block FoD w/ the wayfinder when FoD it was 2/2..

  • Jacob had three mountains untapped, enough to pump the Figure to 4/4, and Black didn't want to needlessly lose his Wayfinder.

  • this dude in the green must be a coke head.. wtf is with the flipping of the cards nonstop and tapping his feet like he's dancing

  • It might have cost him the game...

  • Why didn't he block with the goyf when the 2/2 swung?

Chameleon and Flame Javelin were in the graveyard.

    Goyf = 2/3

    Kithkin = 2/2

    Hmm....

  • he could have made the figure a 4/4

  • The Goyf was 1/2 because the monored guy killed the Goyf with the creture with the evoke to deal 6 damage to him not with a Flame Javelin.

  • at 3.20 why is tarmogoyf and wayfinder doing 3 when a colossus and a javelin are in graveyard?

  • The Tarmogoyf is actually 1/2 (it's a Spitebellows not a flame javelin)

  • lol he totaly screwed it with the G commad ,should get 7 life+ search finks instead of putting the snow-mountain on top

  • fo sho

  • Wrong, sorry. If Demigod of Revenge hits, he's done for. All about tempo with this game.

  • why do pros keep shuffling their hands like idiots?

  • So your opponent cant keep track of your hand.

  • Magus of the moon ftw!

  • The guy with the green sleeves needs to relax a little bit. He's really twitchy.

  • @canman87 Its a psych technique. You use it to distract your opponent. Your opponent is busy looking at your twitching and not focusing on his cards. All the while your leading him into a false conclusion of your nervousness.

  • man i wish i could see the cards

  • I would hit this fucking gay guy with green sleaves in his fucking face because of shuffling his hand ALL THE TIME!!!

  • He's in your head lol.

  • fuck, i would skin him with a knife

  • he tapped wrong when he sent out the vanquisher and the llanawar elf, i would of kept Pendlehaven untapped

  • it wouldn't have mattered. pendlehaven would not have saved the llanowar from the gouger, nor would it have killed the gouger.

  • oh, it was a gouger, i couldnt tell the light was always on the card lol. but the better move would of been keeping the pendlehaven untapped rather than a forest. agreed?

  • He had no ohter green mana-spending lands than the pendalhaven

  • lol sterietype sorry its dark i think you know what i mean and i didnt think he was gana win

  • Thanks for your efforts in posting these games up. Much appreciated.

  • because of that last shuffle, he won lol

  • I like the end.

"Magus of the Moon? SHIT!" *scoop*

  • yeah, what'd he have in play for basics? like a forest? Can't do much late game with 1 green mana...

  • but if he could draw a slaughter pact or a redcap... it would be ok

  • Nationals is a giant nerd convention... and i can't wait to go :D

  • its not only nerds that play MTG the "cool" people play to i should know becuase thats realy all they talk about even thought there "cool" i hate that sterietype

  • the tarmogoyf was a 1/2. jacob clearly killed the colossus with a spitebellows. thats why he didnt block the figure

  • My point is that it wasn't clear. I couldn't tell what card he flashed, and I assumed out of habit that the 3 mana removal for colossus was a javelin.

  • That'd be a Spitebellows. 3 mana evoke deals 6 damage to the poor ol' Chameleon.

  • nice game :]

  • I found it a bit confusing without basic card identification. I could've sworn that black's turn 2 play was a goyf, but when Jacobs javelined the colossus, black didn't block the 2/2 figure with his 2 drop, which would've been 2/3 if it had been a goyf.

As for the play, I think it was correct. Jacobs had board dominance and was spending his burn removing blockers. Black's only way back in the game was colossus, and if Jacobs had the burn to dome him/remove it, he'd lost anyway.

  • Jacobs evoke a Spitebellows so Goyf was 1/2 and no 2/3.

  • It was a Tarmogoyf. Black either is an idiot or thought of something that we aren't catching.

  • >_> I didn't have any trouble at all following the match... My only wish is for life totals though. I'm to lazy to follow somebody else's damage intake. lol

  • What's the guy with green covers doing from :34-1:08?

  • he's doing annoying things with his cards

  • Coverage my ass. I could tell basic lands but other than that, who knows what the hell is happening?

  • are you going to edit these videos laler?

you could put the cards names and life totals on the bottom of the screen like old times. it was simple and nice to watch.

  • Yeah, Sam could have made all kinds of stuff to prevent dying or even killing figure of destiny, but he didn't. Also he could have played his vanquisher before the boreal druid, but he also didn't... Better luck next time Sam!

  • Why

    Is

    He

    Always

    Shuffeling

    His

    Deck

    ?????!!!! oO^^

  • the slapping of cards got ot you too? i hate people that do that constantly...makes you want to punch a baby...or the player shuffling, whichever's closer

  • If he didn't use Pendelhaven to play the Vanquisher/Llanowar he would have been able to pump the llanowar to kill the Figure of Destiny so it wouldn't have been attacking. Clearly the misplay of the game lol.

  • Did that guy have a bono at the end?

  • Magus of the Moon!

  • Sam Black didn't see any Profane Commands this entire match, and he ran 4...

  • i wanted life totals on there that would have helped because it seemed like it just ended out of no where he gave up and i was like whoa!? i guess he was low on life which makes me wonder why he didnt gain 7 life on the mode with primal command. but who knows? he is still a way better player than i am but i think if it was him redoing that play he would have gained the 7

  • He gave up because he only had nonbasic lands in play. His opponent played Magus of the Moon which made every land he had a mountain. He didn't draw a slaughter pact to kill it off, so that was the game.

  • i know what happened i just didnt know what his life total was, and that is why i was explaining why he prolly shud have gained 7 life off primal command if he was low on life, thats why i wanted to see life totals because the scoop was a surprise to me.

  • You are right. At the Primal Command he was well under 10 life. He clearly misplayed. I mean, when you are at burn range, you gain the 7 life, you search for the Finks that in this scenario would have gotten him 4 more life, and then hold off attacking because in his position, he has no way to race, unless he can get himself out of lethal damage range. Playing Boreal Druid was not a bad play since, despite taking 1 from the painland, he could block the Ashenmoor Gouger and prevent 4 damage.

  • I think he was scared of a Demigod. It was smacking him around for all of the finals. He did that in a previous game too I think.

  • Magus of the Moon...

    Lock.

    Lock.

    Looooooock.

  • nice

  • mono red deck wins > b/g rock

  • Why didnt he block the Figure of Destiny at 2:32? His goyf became a 2/3 because of colossus and javilin and could have blocked the 2/2 figure.

  • I'm pretty sure that was a spitebellows, not a flame javelin...

  • I couldn't tell, so thanks

  • At first I thought it was javelin too... then i realized goyf was a 1/2 later on when he said how much he was attacking for...

  • Thanks for posting these!
