  • Google translate can help people figure out the meaning of the words. When talkings began, many times stars had someone speaking their lines for them. It is called dubbing. Same with singing. Many people thought Julie Andrews' voice was dubbed for her high notes in the Sound of Music. Early videos of her performing tells us this is not so. Later performances of Josephine tells us this is not true, either. She sounds the same.

  • that gown is sickening,i love it ,i love this movie and i want to copy it,does anyone know what kind of feathers that is it is soooooooooo awesome

  • She was too big a star and way too black for America. Not one to be content playing maids in the movies.

  • Sad to say we'll never see the likes of a Josephine Baker again. In addition to her slinky sensuality, she had a style and elegance that is sadly lacking in today's so-called entertainers.

  • @victorbrunswick Plus the dizzying intellect that led to incredible social satire in her dancing.

  • We can all learn something from this Lady.

  • la reine de paris !

  • dosen't anyone have the english translation for this song?

  • what a shock that this voice (and accent!) evolved in such a way - her voice in the last 20 or so years of life was night and day compared to this. Neverthless she is absolutely charming here, and radiantly beautiful!

  • interesting, josephine in her young life
