The smooth level and sustain is being enhanced by compression after the amp which also creates the illusion of a longer reverb tail. Nearly all video camcorders do this heavily so that is probably the case here.
After 3 months I'll grab this: For the most part with same woods a Tele sustains a bit more than a Strat and more consistently over its range. This is of course a generalization. A Tele body shape supports the neck better preventing vibration loss. Still a solid heavy ash Strat with a thick neck and big headstock will out sustain an Alder or Basswood Tele with a thinner neck.
yes 81 is near the end of the line for the 60s style construction. i compared it directly internally to a 66 tremolux ( same as vibrolux but no verb), the wiring style and parts all looked nearly the same. only diff. was slightly more modern looking caps and a pull volume boost.
i have comapred the amp in this video to many vibroluxes, including real 65s etc, it is as good or better than any!
dude that was awesome! very tasteful stuff, that tele and amp sound fantastic together. fender makes some good stuff, you're tele looks a lot like mine (but its right handed). great job man, thanks for posting!
Tastefully done. Gotta like that tone as well!

Is the 81 Vibrolux the last of the hand-wired blackface line?

What is that in between you volume and tone controls?

treble bleed cap control of my own design. see my 'bastard lefty tele explained' video for more details.
