  • Hey I just recently noticed my edges and my temple areas starting to thin out due to traction alopecia. I just recently stopped braiding and twisting my dreads due to this. I have dreads down to the lower end of my spine and I do not want to cut them off,14 yrs growing them. Can yo give me some advice on fixing my problem?

  • it's not only the twisting and braiding that causes traction alopecia, it's the WEIGHT of your hair and short of cutting it i can't see any other alternative ;(

  • Does it really work and thicken/grow your hair like it says it does?

  • some have told me that it does!

  • Does this work on European hair?

  • yes it does

  • honey hair is hair, don't fall into a trap thinking something only works for one type!

  • @richeau Everybody has different types of hair HENCE DNA

  • @TheKatypea okay, and you say that to say what???

  • @richeau So it made your hair softer. Has it helped in hair loss? Is there any diff between the castor oil and say olive oil?

  • @kmcl11 You're going to shed hair no matter what, that's normal. I've never had excessive shedding so I can't answer for that but it does leave my hair feeling moisturized.

  • @richeau I am aware there is hair loss every day. I am talking about going thru breakage. I also don't know why castor oil has to be used.

  • @Dungarth jea mija, I'm chicana {mexican american} and have a super fine grade of hair (3a-3b) and, it is AMAZING. I however, use cold processed castor oil, mixed with grape seed oil to thin it out. I've been using it for 3 weeks, and I've seen about 1-1.5 inches of new hair! ITS AMAZING!

  • @N8VLoV3 My girlfriend Is Chicana tambien and has super fine hair as well! I'm excited to buy the Jamaican castor oil for. Why use the grape seed oil? I see others using olive oil and spring water. I really hope it works!

  • @Boricuaso77789 The grapeseed oil makes the castor oil less heavy on my hair, so it isn't so greasy; Plus its REALLY good for your hair! ay, en serio, I've seen about an inch and a half in 3 weeks..this mierda is AMAZING! :O it DOES work...I don't know anything about spring water helping, but I'm not knocking it, because I don't know everything, but I do know alot lol. So jea, buenos suerte con eso mija! It REALLY is a really great thing! :]

    ciao!

    CHuLA CHuKA

  • @N8VLoV3 I'm getting that grapeseed oil for her too. She has the same cabello como tu so i'm going to copy you and have her do what you do jaja...

  • @Boricuaso77789 then also tell her to just add a little bit of the castor oil and grapeseed oil to a leave in conditioner, and masage it into her scalp daily..thats what I do, then once a week, I just wet my hair, and put it in, and let it sit over night, and wash it the next morning-then I do the leave in conditioner again.

  • @N8VLoV3 How much do I have her mix of each? What kind of leave in conditioner do u use?

  • @Boricuaso77789 it just depends on the length of her hair, so but, reallly you just need enough to get to all her hair roots. I use a few different types..sometimes i just use regular ol' pantine conditioner and leave it in, but I also use this stuff called mixed chicks. Its kind-of expensive but its really good..I use that to help me move the oil around, because I feel like I dont get it all over you know... :] I also use different hair serums, like frizz-ease stuff. inbox me for more. :]

  • Was that the 4 oz. or the 8 oz. castor oil?

  • You are so beautiful and have such a nice refreshing personality :-) Where are you from?? I just got my Black Jamaican Castor Oil in the mail today and I cant wait to use it! Peace Love & Blessings~

  • Hey Richeau. I know I can ask you. What exactly does it mean when folks say they are sealing their hair/seaaling the moisture in their hair? I've heard people say they feel they can better seal the mositure in their hair with castor oil than other products. Thanks!

  • aww im glad you feel you can ask me ;) okay, when you put oil on top of your hair, you are putting a barrier on top to trap in the moisture underneath. like if you use a hair cream, you can put oil on top to keep in the moisture. cause oil alone can't moisturize (although the only caveat there is coconut oil if you ask me!)

  • I loooooove your nail polish!! Which brand and colour is it?

  • going to go out on a limb and say "vamp" by essie!

  • I heard it has a musky smell, is that true? I am worried that the smell ill be over powering on y hair. I'd rather my hair products to cover the smell of the oil. What do you think?

  • oh once you put it on you don't smell anything.

  • Your hair looks very healthy and thanks for the review.

    Blessings.

  • first of all your beautiful...lol.

Secondly, you said something about buying it at the beauty supply??? which one?

  • almost any one!

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • i have that oil - brought it a year ago - sent for a bottle it came from jamaica.. anyways its ok.. but boring to use and way too thick... ..

its in the cupboard with all the other 'hair stuff not being used!

  • Geeze judging by ur comments every1 likes everything about u, lol ur hair, music, earrings, nail polish, lol The music was unexpected and somewhat refreshing though. Enjoyed ur vid gurlie :)

  • aww thanks!!!

  • Beautiful hair! I love that song, great taste in music too!

  • You are adorable. How do you get your hair in those perfect twists? It's very pretty.

  • hehe thanks! patience, that's how. and 2 mirrors lol

  • Yes I have seen your earrings in other vids and I have noticed and they look great I like the colors and designs!

  • the earings are hott! :) i love purple

  • I love your eyebrows.

I need to have mine arched. lol

  • I love the music in the background!!!! Thanks so much for the hair advice

  • I like the nail polish

  • Hi massington, I just replied to your black castor oil comment, but it didn't disply under your reply. Check it out.

  • (this was a reply to massingstone, but I don't know why it got up there.. cont')

If so yes you can use it. It's darker then the Olive Oil, but I can understand your comparison. When you smell it, it should have a musky scent. It's good. When I can't get the homemade authentic stuff sent up from Jamaica, I use this one.

  • It's great for the skin. It won't make you grow extra hair where you don't want it to. Check out the west Indian or african beauty supply stores, they would sell it. It may not be the same bottle that empress showed but they woud have it. The one you mentioned aobu having an Olive Oil look, is it in a yellow wrapping with the title Palma Christi Olde Jamaica?

  • um.....i'd have to research THAT one!

  • you are so beautiful, oh my gosh!

  • thank you!

  • ur beautiful ma

  • thank you!

  • hey empress you told us bout your eye shadow and the DJ but forgot to tell us bout your earrings :0) they look lovely

  • hehe well i used to sell those earrings, i might again this summer. ill hit you up if i do!

  • i bought some from akua wood!! I can't wait to use it

  • This product is very heavy and weighs your hair down, but it WORKS!!! It's a great buy.

  • I just ordered the BCO, pomade and protein conditioner from Sam's today. I hope it works for me.

  • I love your hair!

  • thank you!

  • Great review~your hair is very pretty!

  • thank ya much!

  • Ahhhh gurl thanks for sharing this product with us, and love your personality by the way! :0)

  • muah!!!

  • I love jamaican Black Castor oil! It's one of my staple products.

  • Hi. As I said before, my hair was breaking off and I used this stuff after I washed it. My hair got really thin and fragile and started falling out at the roots because I cannot stop throwing up when I get sick. I have used this and my hair is doing much better. I have two bottles and the first one is almost gone because even though it weighs my hair down, it has saved the rest from falling out more. Love your vids! Thanks for posting this.

  • Track ID: Even Though by Black Coffee (house track) ;-)

  • shoot thank you!

  • You always play the best music in the background! LOL

  • girl im a househead!!

  • Me too! I just got my camera...yay! So i'll be doing some vids soon. My photo montages set to music are getting old to me.....LOL

  • Seriously where can I buy earrings like that? Do you have a website? Love them.

  • I love JBC! The scent is ok, but it doesn't linger so I'm able to use it with no problems. :-)

  • After I watched this I went over and ordered it. Now I am wondering just what I will do with it first! You are going to have me with a room just for my products when I get into a house.

  • I was on sams247 earlier today *thinking* about getting some JBCO and you have pushed me right over the edge. You *are* a product pusha!! LOL

  • You weren't joking when you said that that DJ is yummmy.... emmmm yum... and his music is good too. Is he Jamaican? I hear an accent on him when he speaks.

  • I ain't foolin witchu today, Empressri! LOL!

  • what about your boundless tresses.. i think thats what its called.. does it do anything for your hair..

  • I'm glad you mentioned the music in the background coz it saved me from asking you :-)

  • lol AND i posted the link for ya!

  • Do you like the black castor pomade better than Anita's coconut & sapote pomade?

  • now girl that's comparing teuscher truffles and harry and david. both are banging for me but they do different things. im sorry, was i supposed to be helping you narrow down to buying ONE thing? hehe

  • You're so bad!!! LOL

  • never get tired of watching your vids.you are so funny and easy going

  • hehe why thank you!! i try

  • girl castor oil be the truth and I love the shadow

  • Shame on you Ri...Got Jamaican Black Castor Oil just sitting on a shelf. LOL. Don't use it internally unless you'd like a strong laxative.

  • damn is it that potent?!

  • I'm going to have to stop watching your videos..I'm going to be broke soon! *slaps your hand* Bad Ri...Bad Ri!! LOL

  • RI thank you for that site ...I was looking for a site like this!!! Thank you girl thank you!!! Thanks sis:) your the best!

  • you r no good 4 me. lol . im what sum would call a product junkie and you just keep me going. by the way your hair is beautiful.

  • love your hair!!!

  • I was finally able to wash my hair after a long time (I have vertigo and it causes really bad motion sickness whenever I tilt my head) and I have that JBCO in the house. I like it but it does weigh my hair down. I used it when I washed my hair and it brought it back to life! My hair was breaking off so bad because I was sick and now it is looking better.

  • Thanks for the tutorial Ri, but what nail polish are you wearing?

  • hehe! essie in vamp

  • Coooool video! I'm glad you did a review of JBCO. I use it all the time...it makes my hair and ends sooo soft. I haven't noticed growth, but it conditions my hair very well. I also mix it with my other oils and concoctions. Your hair looks so well conditioned keep doing what you do 'cause its so tamed and great looking!

  • Girl..Thanks for sharing the info, but I tell you, I am a true PJ from watching your vids!!! LOL

  • what are the other products you used? you mentioned a cranberry...hair milk...and hair smoothie...by who?

  • I'm lovin' those earrings Ri!

    <3 Jeniece

  • Are the results different from regular castor oil? I'm asking because I haven't seen it in my area and am wondering if it's different than the regular castor oil they sell in the pharmacy.

One thing's for sure. I know that if I do order, I won't be getting the case. LoL! That little bit that you used shows that the stuff lasts.

  • I've heard great reviews about jamaican black castor. can you post the link where you purchased it?

    thank you

  • look to the right...at the top...stop there....oh yes!!! click it!!!! lolol

  • Please post the link for the podcast. I'm a househead so I'm always looking for different mixes.

  • I grew up with castor oil on my head. my mother's jamaican so...

It works - i had fab hair when i was young. your twists look super cute in this vid:) let us know how it works when you try it on wet hair.

  • Girl, me too. It was in my hair, in my stomach, all over....lol I have some here and I really haven't delved into it yet. Need to start using it.

  • I did use the castor on damp hair, right after using the hair milk and hair butter!

  • I must get this product!! thanks for the video!! <33
