for me i am allergic to peanuts and all other nuts. it sucks for me cuz when i was little i had to sit alone at lunch, and i had to bring in a special snack for my friends birthdays. still today i need to check every little thing i eat before i put it in my mouth. and if i do have a reaction i need an Epipen and then i need to be rushed to the hospital.

But when I was at the allergy Dr with my son under 2 years and his back was swollen from scratch tests, I became a believer as I finally knew why he seemed to never chew his food and choke.. Have you checked into any desensitization programs? I know of several kids with food allergies that have been helped by these programs.

Good luck. Just remember when you're teased that you're not the only kid out there with allergies, and people that tease and bully are ignorant.

I'm allergic to: Nuts, Shellfish, Cocoa Powder, E280, E220, E120, Strawberries, Raspberries, Cherries, Food colourings, Cinnamon, Cinnamal which is an aroma- I have an anapen and epi pens for Nuts, Shellfish and Food colourings cause I'm anaphylatic to them and have just been in hospital twice for it. But having allergies are not the end of the world chin up and smile :) xx

I'm allergic to wheat, dairy, gluten, sugar and most grains. It is a royal pain in the behind! I never get to have cake on my birthday, I always have to pay more at restaurants to get them to make me something special, It's a constant pain, and can be very very depressing :(

But chin up! I try to stay positive, and grateful for what i do have. Being allergic is a great test of ingenuity, innovation and resourcefulness. So get creative! I'm with you allergic people! ;)

This is so good for my son to see so that he knows there are other kids like him. He is allegic to dairy, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, tomato, green peas, green beans, garbanzo beans, all citris fruit, most food preservatives and some food coloring. He still breaks out ocationally so we know there is more. Our yearly testing usually reveals more every year. He just turned 6.

I know a friend allergic to tuna, and I feel so sorry for him (because I love tuna)...but, because he had a very traumatic experience wih a reaction when he was little, he developed a fobia to tuna, and can't even stand the smell of it.

Does it seem like food allergies/allergies/asthma are on the rise? Never, ever once, in my elementary school (through high school) did I hear of even one child/student with food allergies. Is it being diagnosed more or are allergic problems on the rise?

Great video! I love seeing these kids so happy and smart even though they have severe allergies. My baby has FPIES (Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome) which I describe as a severe allergy (epipen won't help!) to milk and soy proteins. Luckily, he'll grow out of it! This video makes me feel like we can make it!

Both my kids have food allergies, but I have met adults who have gotten allergic to what USED to be a favorite food like strawberries, shrimp and dairy products.

You don't HAVE to be born with Food Allergies to end up getting one.

Wonderful, moving video. I have two children with severe peanut, tree nut, sunflower and sesame seeds allergies as well as mango and kiwi. They also have eczema, asthma and enviromental and cat allergies.

It can be alot of work, thats true ,and it is truly a life changing experience for the child and the whole family.

Most people don't understand these issues and how it impacts these kids when it comes to social and school issues etc.

Because of this my kids are considerate and more caring.

There are allergy shots for being allergic to enviroment that slowly gets one get immuned to what they are allergic to. There aren't any for foods however, for the way allergies work, when the enviroment allergies go down the foods do also. Its helped me so much being allergic to celery, soy, and mangos- being allergic is still a problem, but not a deathly risk as much as before.

I see alot of Allergies exspecially peanuts. Did you know that Latex Allergy affect alot of kids. Food and Latex have alot in common. Latex is in alot of things-nipples-bottles-pacifie­rs-balls-underware-balloons etc. Latex Allergy can cause Severe reactions-Asthma. I wrote book about my experience-children-Latex Is Not My Friend-You Tube. This book can help people understand Latex Allergy.
