  • clearly the broadway version

  • It's defiantly the Broadway version.

  • It's the broadway version. There are two different Mimi's.. and Rosario has a very distincitve dance

  • If you can't tell this is broadway you must not be a fun.

Personally I can NOT stand Mimi in this her voice is pure aweful! uhg! I hate when all the versions are boadway!

  • @bluebellfayerie I never realized the difference, between this and the movie version anyway. But for "Goodbye Love" I do notice a difference.

And I personally love this Mimi, but that's my opinion.

  • @DefineNormal94 Goodbye Love isn't in the movie

  • @DefineNormal94 just thought I'd let you know

  • "but if you're so wise, then, tell me, why do you need smack?"

    owch

  • definately slower than the movie. but still awesome. obviously....it's broadway :P

  • another day and goodbye love are the best rent songs! RENT <3

  • omfgggggg so awsome song

  • Mimi sounds like she is recording this while taking a shit xD LMFAO But ROGER'S VOICE Is Unforgettable <3

  • Yep, that is so not Rosario. That woman sounds strained. I get, that there is a difference between doing it live an recording a soundtrack. Maybe Rosario wouldn't be able to do anything decent live but in that one song original Mimi sounds like she is pushing it.

  • @AnHeC it's just how her voice sounds. If you listen to anything else by her, it all sounds the same.

  • @LivetoRENT just so you know at 3:58 I think that is Angel and Mimi but I could be wrong

  • my fave song in the whole movie!!! :)

  • I really like the guitar in the movie better, because it's more dramatic.

  • The reason ppl cant tell the difference is because in the Broadway and Movie version Adam Pascal plays roger, So its the same male lead in both, and mimi in the original is played by Daphne Rubin-Vega and in the movie its Rosario Dawson, but there voices are very closely matched

  • @CreepersCreep I would though, that any true RENT fan would know the difference, as well as realize that all but two people in the movie were of the original RENT cast when it opened on Broadway in '96.

  • mimi's voice sounded terrible..

  • @hahaYOUREdead1 thats the original mimi

  • One person needs to actually see the musical...

  • Omg, I've only ever seen the movie, and I LOVE this song, but this Mimi's voice makes me want to gouge out my ears. Seriously, she sings on broadway?

  • this song is in both, considering i have a recording of the stage version live off broadway and the movie version

  • I honestly think Rosario did a MUCH better job at playing Mimi. Jussayin

  • how could anyone mistake this for the movie? the movie cast has nothing on the orignal

  • @annalinn21387 most of the original cast was in the movie... Mimi and Joanne were the only new actors.

  • @deathforthebadapples I believe Roger's hair counts as new character, though.

  • I love this song but the other Mimi does sound way better an dshe is a better dancer for sure! But this girl is good but noone could replace the real cast!!

  • i want the movie version but everywhere i search is these version and i don't like these mimi. maybe you know were i can found the movie version?

  • That is NOT MIMI from the 2005 film -____-

  • i hate the person who disliked this video!!!!!!!!!! BURN IN HELLL!!!!! thanks! O:)

  • I prefer the OBC version over the movie version anytime! LOVE IT!!

  • @ohmytreehugger

RENT was always intended to be a theatre piece. It's just a shame that Jonathan Larson's life was so short lived. Thus he never live to see the show's success. He was an extremely talented songwriter and composer.

  • 1 person doesn't know love

  • Mimi sounds raspier.. This isn't the movie version, is it?

  • I need Rosario's sweet voice.

  • Oh my god how can anyone think this is the movie version. That clearly isnt Rosario Dawson!! And hell, roger even sings differently here than he does in the movie.

  • @nicholh001 Seriously... Roger is a lot lower in this version then in the movie version.

  • absolutely love this song in the movie!

  • i absolutely love this song, mimi's lyrics are amazing. they are my motto for life pretty much. carpe diem!!!

  • Since this mimi from the version sounds like she has the case of SWINE FLU. it doesnt sound good at all. Sounds like she's strainning. What her name ? -__-

  • I am doing a duet with my friend for a talent show, I love this song

  • i love this movie its sad havnt seen it in like forever though,

  • i like the movie mimi better...this one kinda sounds like a man

  • Ah is this from the time when the guy who played Roger in the movie was part of the cast? that would explain while some people thought they were the same.

  • @munkeygirl99 yes he was the orignal Roger

  • If i am ever in a broadway musical, it will be this as roger

  • mimis movie version is better

  • No it means, and I know, that the people in the movie were the people in the broadway show, for the exception of 2 people

  • @ReddieForeverXOXOXO,

Actually, if you listen carefully it is "only us" not "only yes". Not only does "only us" make more sense, but hearing "only yes" can be because the "yuh" sound made by going "only us" makes it sounds like yes. I have a direct from broadway set of sheet music, and it says us.

  • @myloveuntoyou I have the movie and i the sound track, with the lyrics...and i've looked a the score before...it say yes.

  • Theres only us, theres only this,

Forget regret, or life is yours to miss,

No other road, no other way,

    No day but today, <3

  • this is the broadway version...roger and mark were in the original cast for broadway!!!

  • also the part of mimi was played, in the broadway show, by daphne rubin-vega

  • where can i find the movie version ofg this song?

  • in a way she is right

  • "Forget regret, or Life is yours 2 miss, No other road, No other way, No day but 2day.." These are words 2 live by.. Well in my opinion..I'm not sure if you agree..

  • this isn't the movie u can tell the difference in mimi's voice it isnt the same as in the movie and i love this song mimi is my fave

  • "i should tell you,,, i should tell you"

    awwwwwwwwwwwww♥♥

  • @LivetoRENT It's actually "there's only yes, only tonight" not only us, just thought i'd point it out...it's really good vid! RENT <3

  • @ReddieForeverXOXOXO ha ha yeah, i figured that out after hearing rosario & renee's versions lol. for the longest time i always thought it was "us" because that's what it sounds like daphne's saying :P

  • @LivetoRENT Me too, then i found that once i got the movie, i was like....OH! :D

  • @LivetoRENT I usually sing Rent songs during the day XD We all either have NO lives, or the best lives EVER. :D

  • best song ever! I've been singing this all day pretending I'm mimi....obviously I have no life! XD

  • @musicrocksursox OMG! I've been singing this all day too!! Guess we all have no lives... :P

  • @LivetoRENT

    no day but today

  • @musicrocksursox i pretend im rodger lmao

  • @homigmatt ahaha I sing mimi!

  • @musicrocksursox OMG My Friends Call Me Mimi!! Based on this Movie!! lol. I Lovee It!!

  • @musicrocksursox

    lol youre not alone xD

  • i like the movie version better....rosario dawson sounds better as mimi :/

  • iloverent<3

  • this isn't rosario dawson it is daphne .. the original mimi

but it is Adam Pascal <3

  • umm are u sure this is not the movie version i cant tell the difference.

  • I LOVE Adam Pascal, talk about amazing. <3

  • broadway version is SOOOOO much better then the movie. the disk is a lot better too. it tells the story. the movie cuts out a lot of stuff and messes with the original songs. :) though i have nothing against it since it is needed if you dont want a three hour movie. you should go see the musical in person, and then you'll change your mind about the movie's version's of the songs.

  • i like the movie version better. you can tell the difference if you really listen.

  • wtff this IS THE MOVIE VERSOIN

  • @srcgirl47

Nope this is the Broadway version. And that is Daphne :)

  • why does mimi sound like micheal jackson lol. listen close lol

  • @EpicDime

    That's true! xD

  • i have to sing this for college and i have to put on his voice XD

but im a cambridge lad so i sound posh XD

  • this doesnt sound like rosario dawson

  • i love this song its amazing

  • This is not the movie version. This is the Broadway.

  • Is it just me, or it Mimi... terrible in this....

  • @JAR2369 Her voice sucks lol

  • grreat song

  • Thanks, I was looking for this version. I love it way more than the movie version

  • I honestly don't see the difference in this version and the movie version they sound exactly the same to me

  • Adam Pascal sounds the same, but the Mimi's sound different.

  • Adam's voice is deeper and less harsh than the movie version. Mimi's voice is also more shaky here in the OBT, but both are very good. Both are talented singers and do a good job- I prefer the movie version because it sounds smoother. But that's what happens when you use programs to edit for a movie. ^^

  • Two different people playing two different parts.

  • its not the same mimi, In the broadway they're different actors.

  • True.

  • @debchristopherson It's because this is the Broadway version. Different Mimi.

  • @debchristopherson That's because Joanne and Mimi in the movie were changed to different actresses, but Adam and the others stayed as their roles

  • @debchristopherson Cuz its not Rosario Dawson...its the original Mimi from when the show was first on broadway (before the movie)

  • @debchristopherson its a different person who plays Mimi, that's actually Adam; he did the movie and the broadway play, Rosario only did the movie.

  • @debchristopherson of course Adam sounds the same... he's epic enough to be perfect every time.

  • @debchristopherson Yes true! I have always liked the other Mimi better though...

  • @debchristopherson That's because Rosario didn't play Mimi in the original Broadway version.

  • i think this IS the movie version, mimi sounds the same to me :/

  • @errdizzle321 it says this is the broadway verison on the itunes link but they're both as good :)

  • @JasmineEsMi yes, this is the broadway version :)

  • @errdizzle321 No, this isn't the movie version.

  • like da movie version better, but love this song anyway!

  • Love disz song I LUV rent

  • LOVE ITT
