There might not be an album with it played at this speed, a lot of bands wil play a song faster live. God, that one singer is annoying! The damned backup singers aren't even singing harmony!!!

Interesting observation--if any of you have seen Scareface movie with Al Pacino and the scene when he and the boss's wife (, Michelle Pfeiffer) are dancing together in the club. The back-up ladies in Roxy band here are dancing (especially the dark-haired nearest to the camera)  with the exact same style as Al Pacino and the Michelle Pfeiffer were dancing to---not a common style. Just Coincidence!!

The back-up beauties are awesome! Roxy music group was way ahead of the game in engineering how each role would be projected by the members. Traditionally and unfortunately, members of other groups are needlessly overlooked for the credit they deserve(ie drumer, bass guitarist, keyboard,etc.) But you can tell that Ferry ensured every member and especially the two beauty angels were given equal spotlight, if not even more than Brian Ferry himself-how humble! Great Art creativity for Roxy Music!!

As a young 18 year old when this was released,I recall that Ferry was a big fan of Elvis and his stage personna tried to capture his days in GI Blues with the tie tucked in etc....it was performance darling....Bryan also recorded "The Girl Of My Best Friend" later in an album.....took it a bit too far reading the Old Testament with his sons names..... Glory Halle......!!!!!

Man, I'm in the minority, but I kinda like the backup singers in this. I don't think they're off key, are they?? Just way, way up in the mix. It's definitely a shock hearing them wailing on that first chorus, but I think it adds something extra creepy and sexy to a song that was already there anyway, and puts it way over the top. In a good way.

* warning* U tube has removed the best of the Roxy vids...the "Musikladen" live performances. If you really care about Roxy and other great bands from this era, then post more vids. and protest...Many young people were getting a serious buzz from the Musikladen performances...now it has been denied too them. Watched the documentary "More Than This" last night. I was never a big Bryan Ferry fan (in fact we used to call him Fryin' Berry), but loved Roxy as a whole until Brian Eno left. More of an Eno fan. Some of this video is in the documentary and strangely enough, it sounds a LOT better! The documentary as a whole is a bit disappointing, but if you don't know about or were too young or not born when Roxy appeared on the scene, check it out. But try to rent or borrow it instead of buying it.
