  • Too bad theres no badass myung bass solo

  • And i JIZZED IN MY PANTS, holy cow u guys have talent

  • it must have been weird for vai to play without fan blowing his hair :D

  • It's clear Petrucci is the best

  • HOW COME THE UNIVERSE DID NOT IMPLODE WHEN THIS HAPPENED ?

  • Steve Vai is so much better then Dweezil it's not funny.

  • @dooberheim Steve vai is older than zappa, but then again petrucci is also better than steve vai again

  • Rudess enjoys playing fast on his giant mustache.

  • Chuck Norris is still the best! lol

  • Still think Chuck Norris would own them! lol

  • @2patero

Dude Chuck Norris Jokes are OUT since June 2009

you wont see any Thumbs up on them anymore

  • All 3 guitarists are technically outstanding and great players, but the whole thing just kinda lacked any real soul for me!!

  • @JtR1666

That is exactly what i was thinking

I am a Real Fan of everyone of those as Solo Artist

But after 6 Minutes i was so bored of the Soulless Shredding of Steve Vai that i had to turn it off

I really like Steve Vai First 3 CD s but the man is just horrible when he needs to improvise a Solo

    He s a Composer not a improviser

Plus Portnoys drum sound is to loud

  • @Zappafan1980 Come on dude you clearly don't know what you are talking about.

First. The audio is shit, because the video quality isn't good. So that makes it clearly dificult to jugde any note played well.

Now. Steve Vai won a Grammy...more than one just to know. Is out there for more than 30 years playing, can go through all the music genre with ease. And for sure, can IMPROVISE. He got exp for that, talen and more.

Plz, limit Steve just to Composer wans't really smart...

    Tsc...Tsc.

  • @jacksamuk

WHAAT Steve Vai can go though every music genre with ease ?

I never heard him play, Classic, Fusion Jazz, or Blues Rock,

I never heard him improvise well, i own ALL the G 3 DVD s where he s on and he s way worse then Joe Satriani or John Petrucci or Eric Johnson when it comes to imrovising

I own Passion and Warfare, Alien Love Secrets and Ultra Zone so i might know what im talkin about

  • @Zappafan1980 Yes he can go through any music genre with ease. Just because you never saw him play the style doesn't means he is not capable. Just look at the guys technique, record, performance and etc. If you play guitar you might understand what I'm saying.

You may be right that he doesn't improve well "sometimes" but say he is an composer and not a improviser is just nonsense.

You own the cds thats fine. But looks like you didn't pay much attention yet...

  • @Zappafan1980 wow dude, you're a zappa fan. he played all those genre's when he played for zappa (ie play raggae in 7/8, i hear linda ronstadt is looking for a guitarist...). from what i have heard, he doesn't like jazz that much. as for improvisation i thought he was phenomenal but you're allowed your biases.

  • @gumbilicious1

Steve Vai played ONLY the Rythem guitar when he played with Frank from 1981 to 1984

He only had Solos on You Are What You Is, Tinseltown Rebellion and Them Or Us

AND he didnt Compose these songs so it doesnt count for me sorry

And yeah i know he s theoretical capable of playing that stuff because he studied music for 2 years at Berklee

    BUT HE DOESNT DO IT

Like i said i dont hate Vai

  • @Zappafan1980 Zappa arranged Vai for transcribe his guitar solos in paper

  • @Zappafan1980 Frank hired the young Steve Vai to transcribe all of his music; and occasionally play the odd solo as well. Transcribing for Frank Zappa is like trying to assemble a jumbo jet with a hand-held screwdriver.

  • jordan and steve vai!????the world is end. jajajajaj fantastic music

  • Is that the techno viking on keyboard?

  • Hulk Petrucci

  • Keyboard guy looks like a bald james hetfield

  • my speakers are about to give out...

  • JOrdan destryoed them all...

  • John, try to learn something from steve

  • @rudess84 hahaha dude you are just being sad

  • where are Dream Theater from?

  • @STRATCAT101 - supposedly from NYC. I say, from another planet!

  • @STRATCAT101 New York USA

  • @STRATCAT101 New York,Most of 'Em atleast,i belive the Long Island area to be exact

  • steve vai is like the reggie white of guitar

  • ...and just realized, this is in the middle of Beyond This Life. hoooooooooooooomyGod!

  • Reading the title and imagining it is pure live awesomeness.

  • so not Dweezil,That is Steve Vai

  • @davidq1017 - umm yeah, like the video title says "...Dweezil Zappa AND Steve Vai". Dweezil is in the background next to Petrucci.

  • Comment removed

  • if feel sorry for the basist

  • ---Akkor az urak itt most kicsit zenélnek...........

  • vai should join dream theater definately

  • Wow, thousands of people must have died after such awesomeness

  • haha at the end dweezil and steve are like "screw this i'm outta here." you can expect nothing less from someone as eccentric as steve, great stuff right there

  • dammit i wish they did this at the orlando show!!!

  • This could be how a new G3 concert could look like, wouldn't that be awesome.

  • just outta this world

  • i was at that concert, very cool concert

  • john petrucci is the god in human form...he is a MONSTERRRRRRRR....

  • hahahah 1.46 - vai rocks out. i wish he wud more often.

  • awesome jam. once petrucci went bear mode his fingers fired lazers into the audience and he killed everyone at the same time he was in time warp speed and made Vais guitar breakdown using mental telepathy which resulted in Petrucci giant muscles afterwards

  • Was awesome I got to see it live!

  • yep, you were right, pure face melting. great post ;)

  • final outcome: vai beats jp, zappa over vai, but DZ and JR are close contenders. the son of zappa vs juliards finest concert rock pianist?

  • the last 2 minutes or so is basically like 4 guys cumming all over eachother

  • well put.

  • @doors1122 hehe

  • @doors1122 so a homosexual gang bang?

  • ---Abszolút !---

  • JORDAN and STEVE VAI is the best!

  • WOW... Vai, DT and ZPZ in one concert... I hate being European...

  • @fresh1air : Same for me !!

I don't want to be french

I don't want to be french

I don't want to be french

I don't want to be french

  • jizztastic

  • This show was the best first Dream Theater concert for me! :DDDD

    tat nite was epppppppppppiiiiicc!

  • holy shit my 3 favorite guitarists on one stage! im suprised the building didn't implode from too much awesomeness in one place

  • this was just outstanding. one of the best concerts i have ever been to. before this, dream theater was just a band i really enjoyed but didnt follow closely. now i think it is safe to say they are one of my top 10 favorite bands. it was an absolutely flawless performance.

  • WOOOW.... New G3... Fucking GREAT!!!

  • YEAH!!! What a treat. G3 at the end of the night. The whole show was awesome. Had a feeling Vai would show up.

  • @tideal G3 is nothing without Joe Satriani. Vai kicks ass here...as always.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed

Honestly, Portnoy, Petrucci, Vai and Dweezil are too much awesomeness put together as it is. Leave Satriani out of the new G3 >:3

  • @PancakesoftheLove Nah..Satriani, Dweezil and Vai then. Petrucci isn't as creative as Satriani. He is very good though, but not as creative.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed I feel exactly the opposite way. Don't get me wrong, I love some of Satch's stuff, but other than Surfin' and Satch Boogie I don't really feel like he's good at making melodies. Then there's Dream Theater.

    I guess it's a matter of taste.

  • @PancakesoftheLove Dream theater is ver repetitve. They are ment to be progressive, but they are standing still. No really forward motion they just repeat themselves again and again. Great musicians though. Satch on the other hand keeps experimenting and knows how to write weird but catchy melodies. I still want Dream Theater to make a song with a good melody, but they are to busy wanking their asses of in instrumental passages that lead nowhere. Shame because the whole band is very talented.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed Wait, what? Erotomania is definitely progressive. Acid Rain is definitely progressive.

They stay there, but they variate and build on top of what they've got.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed

Not really. On some of there songs, but listen to "Learning to Live". Just keeps progressing.

For a more recent example, try "In the Presence of Enemies". It's just amazing riff after amazing riff.

  • @Mordain607 Well...In The Presence of Enemies has some good riffs, but if that's your definition of ''progressive'' then a lot of bands in the metal genre could be considered progressive. The last few albums of Dream Theater had little to no inspiration sadly.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed

Well the riffs just keep flowing into each other and it has some amazing breaks and whatnot. I certainly think it's progressive. And yes, I think the last couple of DT albums didn't have much inspiration, but I think they had a couple of good songs each (In the Presence of Enemies, Panic Attack)

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed Parts 1 and 2 though.

  • @Mordain607 And Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Octavarium, and The Count of Tuscany.. to name a few.

  • AMAZING night!!!! thanks for capturing the best part of it all!

  • All the bands were great on this one. I was very impressed. That was a lot of top notch musicianship in one night. Outstanding lineup.

  • Best fucking concert in the world. I was wayy over there ---->

  • Same, row C, pretty much in front of Petrucci.

    Best concert ever indeed.
