Well from what I've heard Sarah michell gellar and the director pulled out. The company that is producing it was Universal, and they apparently have the queen of hearts cast according to wikipedia (or some queen i dunno i just woke up, sorry).

As far as I can tell, however, it's stuck in development hell and it won't happen for a while, especially with Tim Burton's version coming out this year.

American McGee's Alice is the third story as the game, as Alice is older about 18 if you read the doctor's journal which is included with the game CD in the box it will show the amout of years Alice was hospitalised if you read the journal dates, My guess is alice would have been about 12 when her parents died in the house fire.
