my family did not get cable until about two years ago. but i did know about the weather channel when i watched it at hotels and other people's homes. 2001 was around the time i discovered TWC and i thought the way they opened the hour with current conditions around the nation was the PERFECT way to present the weathher for that day. its unfortunate its not like that now :(
