  • I find it hard to believe these kids are my parents' ages. It's good to know that they had some quality television growing up. I'd have loved to see this on air as a kid.

  • It just reeks of 70s but that's what makes it awesome.

  • "Then take your typewriter..."

  • Zoom existed in the 1970's!?... O_O

  • i loved this show.my sister and i was sitting in front of the tv at 4 oclock to watch this show. good memories.

  • Happy 40th birthday, ZOOM! (1972-2012)

  • Nina's like the biggest one! Is she like 13 or 14?

  • The 90's, or rather 00's Zoom wasn't bad at all. Children's programming died in 2004.

  • i havent seen this since i was five years old in 1970 and it used to come on saturday mornings! this is awesome...

  • i just had a flashback when they sang 0213FOURRRRRRR..lol

  • My dad had a crush Nina :D

  • 0:06 - The original 1972-77 WGBH logo is replaced by the 1977 WGBH logo.

  • I've only just found out that there was a 70s version of this show... wow, what a mind trip.

  • @IAmPlaysWithSquirrel - Wait a minute...there's a ZOOM other than the 70s version? [dazed look]

  • @mustafaFLOUTStheDMCA Yes, there is a new one. It first came on in the late 90s and ran through the 2000s. I think that the NEW one still runs on PBS.

  • @mustafaFLOUTStheDMCA yup, they made a 1999 version that ran from 1999-2005.

  • @mustafaFLOUTStheDMCA If you aren't joking ( Hard to tell online sometimes) they brought the show back with new kids in the 90's for several years

  • SO this first version was in the SAME set as the second version? Because the address for both is the same.... 0 2 1..3 4! Forever stuck in my head :D

  • man 70's 80's and early 90's seemed like an awesome time...... Im a child of the 90's and grew up with the 90's show... but this version seems .... nicer,, simpler you know cooler I get the idea that 70's zoom tried connecting kids with the cast you know what I mean?

  • @nickwalco - I would say the 70s were the last decade before Hardcore Everything America came into being. The hope for real social change felt then has utterly died, sadly. At least that's my personal take.

  • @mustafaFLOUTStheDMCA It's sad, how, a 'child of the 90's' sees how 'nicer' ZOOM was, etc.

It's the idiots who now make tv shows, films, who are trying to crush anything like hope, creativity, change - and, are more - or, ONLY interested in RATINGS (even PBS), revenue.

That DOESN'T instil ANYTHING positive - especially, in a young person's mind. When we're kids, we like being treated as 'adults.' But, kids NEED to be kids.

'Come on, and ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOM-A - ZOOM...'

  • @mustafaFLOUTStheDMCA ur so right. Too many want to drag us backwards intead of taking us forward.

  • 90's zoom was way better lol

  • The only thing I liked better than seeing Nancy Tates was seeing Nancy Tates barefoot -- which she was most of the time.

  • I luved this show as a kid,Especially Ms.NANCY she was the best performer on the show,I alaways wanted to be on this show,This show inspired me to write letters and "VILLE ALGRE" plus watching my mom write letters to family members,NANCY inspired me to be a performer,in elementary school i played "DOROTHY" in THE WIZ,in junior highschool i was in play "ANNIE GET YOUR GUN" i was a singer and a dancer and i played myself a "INDIAN" that was the greatest moment ever i been playing that role my life

  • Kids back then weren't fat. hmmm.

  • Lol wow that was something else lol I grew up watching the 1999-2005 show :)

  • my mom made me watch this -.-

  • Fuck you Joe!!!

  • lol typewriter

    that made my day xD

    i grew up watching the 1999 version (I'm 15)

  • - OMG! I just got BLASTED back to childhood!

  • @smoothpants - Being blasted back to childhood can have its dangerous side effects---so just be on the lookout for signs of acne, raging hormones, and rebelliousness.

  • @mustafaFLOUTStheDMCA - The acne I can live without, but at 43 years old...I'd LOVE to have the other stuff. For sure!

  • Can't forget this program, especially the theme song! and that's one zip code I'll never forget.

  • wow I grew up watching the 90s/2000s version, but this intro OWNS that one

  • God! I was 4/5 then!

  • GOD what a teerible intro... early days of PBS - paid for by you, the taxpayers
