  • No matter what my mood or how bad my day was, this song is guaranteed to make me happy. It's like the ultimate feelgood song.

  • one of the best songs of weezer in my humble opinion, I really love this song , and the live version rocks.

  • 2 people didn't have a glorius day.

  • @TheDrewids hhhaha ur a nun

  • Solo is Awesome. I wish they did that in the album.

  • One of the best band of the 90's for sure.... miss them

  • I love this song... I love this album... Respect this album.

  • =w=

  • well it's definitely not my fav but it's a really solid album and I still think it's as emotional as any of their other stuff in spots.

  • those were glorious days

  • the green album was so underrated...

  • i agree. and every one now when you say green album automatically goes "island in the sun?" its a great song, but this song is my favorite on it

  • OH yeah it was!! =w=

  • @BiscuitsJoe Couldn't agree more. Whilst it might not be as good as Pinkerton and the Blue Album, it's definitely up there, not far off at all.

  • This performance is really terrific, I just wish the clip didn't cut off the last note.

  • the green album is about a pop music genius attempting to create the perfect pop song formula. it's as interesting as weezer ever got. not sure why people don't get that.

lol maroon 5 all over your page.

  • this kind of is a classic to the fans, and thats all that matters.

  • now, if they re recorded green with a meatier production like this and a few kickass solos, it could be a classic

  • you have evidently missed my point

I'm comparing the sound of this version to the album one, and this one DOES sound meatier/heavier or however you wanna describe it, the sound of which I would prefer on the album. Also , don't call me crazy just for having an opinion. If u ain't gonna respect other, get the fuck off youtube you fucking loser.

  • I like the tone here too. they prolly turned up mids and bass on their instruments.

  • anyhow, i didn't say green wasn't meaty, I said they should go MEATIER, like the tone on this. READ PROPERLY

  • lol you nutjob. this is why i dont deal with weezer fans anymore. the cool ones were driven away by the horribleness of the last several albums. lol i'm not a weezer fan because i think the green album has excellent production? sound quality wise, the green album production is flawless. every note is accounted for, every sound in its right place, and it absolutely bumps on a good system. the lower register is fat. the sound of the green is FAT.

  • honestly, the green album is a combination of intriguing, funny, insecure, beautiful, albums i've heard in my life. it's an exhibition of genius. i don't know why weezer fans have to look at it with such disappointment. it isn't what you wanted it to be. get over it and realize what it is. don't get upset that the lyrics mean nothing, or that the guitar solos are an exact replica of the verse melodies, or that songs 5-10 share virutally the same song formula, or that it's only 28 min long.

  • I'm saying. Most Beatles albums had songs under 3 minutes either and no one complained then either.

  • i apologize. i shouldnt have called anyone a nutjob over a youtube argument. i just have an instinct to react because of how i feel about this album. put a wav file from the latter half of the green album into a waveform editor sometime. the wav forms are perfect rectangles. the wall of sound created by the 2 guitars, the bass (the bass on green is fatter and broader in the production than matt's on blue and pink), and pat's set, i don't see how the production could have been better.

  • =GP=!!!!!!

  • I don't understand this Goat Punishment thing.

  • its weezer's alter ego

  • Why does Weezer have an alter ego? too weed out the good fans that know it?

  • i dont know haha, but this is the ego they went under when they played their all nirvana set

  • Yeah they did a bunch of nirvana covers under the name goat punishment i have no idea why though...

  • hmm, interesting. i'll have to look into this now.

  • That's exactly why they did it. This was during a period post-Pinkerton where Rivers only wanted to play for die-hard fans (to get back on their feet after people foolishly bashed Pinkerton).

  • @LPfanatic102 Actually, based off of River's beard and Scott being the bassist, I'd say this is around the Maladroit era.

  • No band has ever made simple bar chords sound so tasty!!!

  • barre.

  • its not my favorite tune by them

but bless them for being able to write super good music!

    weezer for life!

  • Yeah man my favorite weezer song by far. Glorius melody.

  • what a beast of a tune!

  • what a song!

  • god this song is amazing, sounds so great live!!!

  • the green album is ok, but maladroit is better

    the should play more rock

  • goat punishment

  • Weezer's best song!!!!
