  • my 84 2wd chevy truck has been through ten times worse shit then that and got through it

  • 3 stars just for the suburban.

  • I am going to asume that the only tuck with you is the Suburban... thats fucking stupid... if you were even half good at 4wheelin you would know one of the golden rules... NEVER WHEEL ALONE...

  • good to see you use straps on the tree and not chains.

  • What exactly was the goal at 7:30 ? lol

  • Well its explained in the video. If your not from Norway its a bit hard to explain hence the language its written in.

After some earlier offroadin i allmost pulled it off. And when i made this vid it got even more loose. So i found a tree and just pulled the whole shit off.

  • HAHA, Awesome!

  • wow, retail value just went through the roof, lol

  • i love suburban

  • solid front axle suburbans are the best

  • Wish mine could climb like that on snow & ice but mines only 2 wheel drive, nice to see what it would be capeable of though.

  • mine climbs snow and ice like that and its 2wd..

  • wow im shocked, thats ice!

  • Chevy Suburban...

    best SUV ever!

  • Flott video.

The suburban is brilliant! Every law of physics would indicate that a 3 ton chunk of metal would newer be able to do stuff like that! We have a 1993, and it is also bug standard! Only thing is Cooper tires... And I am not joking: the suburban can load more than three V70's! THREE!!! When we bought a new kitchen from IKEA, we got everything in the car at once!

But it is also good offroad! We saved us a 1 mile detour by driving past a gate!

  • at 3:15 i like how the reverse lights come on with the brake lights

    but i like the burb..diesel?

  • u idiot he shifted it into reverse and he had his foot on the brake to control speed

  • ur an idiot look at everytime he steps on the break the reverse lights come on like 3:18 and 4:50

  • i got an 86 on 35's with a 6 inch skyjacker lift...its a lot of fun

  • why the hell are you in Norway? Do you live their or did you seriously go their just to drive around on dirt raods?

  • Ofcource i live in Norway. Why did you think i drove to Norway to offroad? I seriously got better things to do :-)

  • LoL, u thought cos he drive american car he must be an american? Seriously dont know is that comment funny or just plain stupid... :D

  • CHEVROLET SUBURBAN is the best car in the world.I have one to,nothing beets a SUBB.You have..a lot of rom, good comford, safe car,you can pull what ever you like and very very chip parts.SUBB FOREVER.

  • Yes!!! We've got one! It's perfect! I don't know why the hell people is talking so much about the new Mondeo! If you want a big car, go get a Suburban!

  • ı have thıs car thıs ıs the best on the car world

  • The Suburban 1986-1990 is the best car ever!

  • Well... The newer ones aren't so bad either!

  • Ullklut, ur right i like the 1980's-1997 Suburbans but, the 1980's a lot more than the 90's since they have that tough look than today's burbans which are good but, not that tough than the yesteryears ones. Especilly since the older ones are easy to work on than the newer ones, the only problem is....GAS!

  • I really like this video. Just take off the bad music!

  • ive gotta watch usage everywhere, so if u still have cheap petrol go for it i spose. btw my rodeo does not fall asleep on hillclimbs, lol.

  • gee thats real 4wding, on a existing trail with gravel and a bit of snow. WOW.

the suburban is the only 4wd vehicle i know that shits itself whenever the diff slips a bit or theres a gradient of more than 4degrees. whilst using more fuel than an oil tanker.

  • If you would have read what i wrote, but i guess you dont understand norwegian waterscm2. This was for fun, it's not a competition. And it does 19 miles on a gallon. If my calculation was right, 1.2litres on 10km is correct.

jongorat: this car is completely stock, no difflocks either.

  • yeah fair enough i spose, but still a suburban!??!?!?

and i doubt that an old SUV would manage anything near 12litres/100km, especially in stuff like that. what engine is in it?

  • What you got agains subs ?

    Its a 6.2l Diesel.

And yes it uses 12litres/100km when i drive on a normal road. As driving to work. What it uses in offroad can't be measured by litres / km. If it would have been a 350 or a 454 gasoline engine the usage off gass would have been alot more, especially in offroad. Theres a lot of gas stations around, and a 40gallon tank. So it's not really any problem anyways what it uses

  • why cant it be measured? anyway i didnt mean for range i meant in modern times vehicles like this are becoming ridiculous if still running on petrol/diesel. that said i have a large 4wd aswell and obviously you do actually use the vehicle's offroad capabilities unlike most.

but do you really need a 6.1 litre engine? i have a 2.8 4cyl petrol and its more than enough to tow several tonnes.

whats the fuel prices like over there?

  • To measure usage in offroad is just stupid if you ask me. If you drive offroad you drive for fun, and then you dont think about it.

Diesel is cheaper than petrol here in Norway. 1L diesel cost about 10,50nkr. 1$ = 6.4nkr.

Remember, this is a car thats allready 2.8tonnes. If you want a little comfort to your driving here in theese mountain lands you need a engine that doesn't fall asleep in hillclimps. I dont NEED a 6.2l diesel, but it sure is handy.

  • the yanks always make huge engines with less power than say a jap would with the same capacity. so maybe cos mine is an isuzu (jap) is why im a bit frustrated with huge engines.

the only 6+ litre engine in my country (australia) is a v8 6.2 supercharged in the monaro.

  • When we talk about usage, I just bought a Chevy Silverado Regular Cab -73 with 454. This is an engine who likes fuel :D

  • also yes i know that the diesel has plenty of torque of which i wouldnt dream about, but seeing as though ive never thought i needed more from my pencil sharpener 2.8petrol(and im not a granny driver), there are some unanswered questions, like.....

have you tried roping up a couple of mountains to the towbar and shifting them for your convienience yet?

  • If I may interject, guys, the 6.1 liter displacement is to develop enough hp to, say, tow a boat at reasonable highway speeds, like many of them do in the States. Sure, a smaller engine will move the Suburban up a hill anytime given enough torque multiplication (and traction), but it will never be able to haul stuff fast enough except on a downhill.

  • ZZZZZZZZZ! Boring! But you are on to something!

  • what kind of upgrades do you have on that super burb'?

  • tenkte dere hadde det skikkerlig artig, jeg har nettop handler meg en chevy sub 87 6.2 disel, varmer å se prestasjonene til orginalen;)

  • nope, parts are cheap and easy to get :)

Yes we had a blast ;)

  • looks like fun times !!!

  • pretty sweet truck, i had one for a while untill the floor rotted out of it. is it hard to find parts for that truck out there?

  • ja kansje hummer er bedre. men sub er bedre å kjøre på vanlig veg !

  • fin suburban. hummer e bedre, ikje så lang som suburban. uansett så e amerikanske bila best.

  • NICE im glad to see im not the only crazy person offroading those i have a 90' GMC Suburban with the 6.2L diesel. Im amazed you got that thing through half those places stock the breakover and departure angles on those beasts suck. From experience id recommend removing the step panels and installing nerf bars where the aluminum step side connects to the truck and rockers causes rubbing and a ton of rust. I had to replace the rocker panels and 4 fenders because of the evil step sides.

  • 1gallon = aprox 3.8litres. Diesel is cheaper in norway compared to gasoline. I wouldn't say no to a DURAMAX, but i got to have the money for it :)

  • fin film cwathne. feit musikk.

yes the deisel price is abaut 11nkr for one liter of deisel

  • Strong work on having a Suburban in Norway. You ought to put the DURAMAX in that bad boy.
