I Have gone throught the bridge, and after an endless battle in the botton of the Chasm, in the Atlas crib, after four years of frustration with pirate copies of God of War 2 and workless download files I have finally crossed the great chasm. :)

I have researched and find out the cause of the problem. It is caused by the Pirate DVD. The pirate version is an dvd 5, so, it contains 4,7 mb, and the original one, contains nearly 9 mb of recorded material. The game ends in the great chasm cause there is the end of the original disc first layer, the rest of the game will not be contained in the pirate version. I have buyed an original one, and it worked perfectly.

Frustrating right? just save at that last save point, inset DVD 2 and turn off Widescreen option...yea, that should do it.

first check if u have part 2 in your dvd

i hv part 2 of 00 bytes in my dvd and the game runs

if u have part 2 then use dvd decrypter to read the image and burn it in a blank dvd

Most of pirated gow2 dvd uses double layer dvd (DVD9) and most of modchipped PS2 unable to read them... Buy the original or Buy God of War Collection for PS3... LOL

If you downloaded the god of war 2 version that had 2 ripped discs of the pal region I must say that the 2nd disc(layer) didn't work for me.

I downloaded another gow 2 disc, this time a single disc only (that apparently was a rip version too!) and it loaded the Icarus movie. Played with this disc till the end with no problems.

So keep downloading other gow 2 discs and eventually you'll find one that works. I had luck on my 2nd download attempt :)

this is the point where the first CD finishes. all you have to do is save the game in that save point before the chasm, turn of the console, put the second CD, load your saved game and continue.

Icarus is suppose to appear in that scene, but he didn't. Strange that it didn't happen to me before -- already played it 5 times, it didn't happen to me at all. It's probably more of a disc problem than a game bug the developers forgot to fix.

Try this: save the game at the checkpoint and then try playing the disk 2. I did this and it worked!

Have a DVD9 PAL disk, bought a few days back and having the same problem. Either the screen moves and comes to a picture of sky and the game hangs / or Kratos jumps and dies.

Have tried saving and reloading, played from the last save point also. Nothing happens.

this is a common problem with illegal copies, it also happened to me. In my case, i just cleaned the disk with my shirt and the cinematic with Icarus started. if it still doesnt work , get another copy bordz or you'll miss a lot of amazing stuff.

i've heard tha icarus bridge is when ps2 changes from layer 1 to dvd layer 2, some ps2 can't do that due to: 1. not so clean laser lector or 2. they use ps2 chip to read games copies (or should i say, backups :P ) and that ship can't handle dvds with dual layer.

Entao...antes de vc chegar la na ponte tem um lugar proximo da ponte pra vc salvar o jogo, salve!!! Desligue o aparelho troque o cd, colocando o cd de numero 2 (continuaçao) e peça pra começar do ponto que vc salvou, pronto agora quando vc passar ali pela ponte o jogo tera continuidade. Espero que vc consiga. Abraço

you should try cleaning the cd or jumping to the right...i coudln't figure it out either, but you should be able to get it...there's a pillar on the far right, it may take you a while to jump there since you don't know were it is.

!!! i found the solution!!!

th original ps2 game on 1 two layer dvd!

the game the shared of the net is 2 dvds.u can only burn them on 2 diffrent dvds.

enter the first dvd, save the game before crossing the bridge, after u saved the game shut down the ps2 and replace the dvd with the second dvd

and choose load->choose the last saving point and the mother fucker with the wings will show up

You are where you are not supposed to be. Go to the very beginnig of the Chasm, look for the rotating platform & the "Slow-time-statue" Or, You're going the wrong way. Go to the left and start an awesome multiple grappeling (R1) sequence.
