  • I might be slated by some Indians but I always preferred watching Dravid bat compared to Sachin. I don't no why there is just so much calmness in him like nature lol he defo did not get enough lime light.

  • @Kameenah lols doesnt matter many peaple find him very much boring as well he is technically great but sachin is far better then him.....

  • @36pratham Mate i wasn't saying he was better then sachin but dravid did not get enough credit. He is so under rated, and that's coming from a Brit Pak.

  • @Kameenah but why do u think he didnt got enough credit , he cosidered as batsman next to sachin in india among top test batsman what else u want he is medicaore in odi and what he got is enough i guess u want that or may be u want that he will get same credit as sachin which is impossible...

  • @36pratham firstly..this was a flawless innings by dravid.. now.. with all due respect..viv richards was not a better test batsman than dravid..and you say he was mediocre in ODIs.. he is the 7th highest run scorer and has played the 8th highest number of ODIs ever... forget statistics.. dravid is one of the most technically sound and aesthetically pleasing batsman of all time..that alone makes him a legend of the game..but i do agree that ponting and kallis are up there as well..

  • @ambuj1991 viv was better then dravid tell me in the era of viv how many players have better then avg then him infact tell me how many use to have avg of 50 in that period while in dravid many player have that avg in gact many have better avg then dravid viv is a class apart , sachin lara viv all are in same league saying 1 is better then other is injustice to other...

  • @36pratham i clearly said.. dravid is a better test batsman than sir viv ..and i stand by that comment because i think dravid is more technically sound.. that is just my personal opinion.. i never said dravid was a better player or that dravid is an inferior player overall..i think viv richards was an amazing odi batsman as well.. where dravid probably falls short a little bit..and i agree that it's very hard to say which player is better than the other..

  • Kallis, Dravid, Lara, Tendulkar - Probably the best test batsman of the world in the last 30 years......I wouldnt count ponting in there as he very rarely had to grit it out on his own, he had players like McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist, Hayden, langer playing along side him....He wasnt tested as much as the former players...

  • @majesticmaniac

i disagree. ponting on many occasions has held on his own. when i think of dravid, i think of him defending his wicket....when i hear ponting, i only think of one thing: Australia, australia, and australia! what a captain and a batsman ponting has been. dravid a good test batsman, but ponting's record speaks for itself.

  • @majesticmaniac wrong there are many better batsman the above u mentioned... sachin and lara offcourse no doubt best after then its viv richrds , sunil gavaskar, gary sobers, greg chappel then comes dravid... and among kallis dravid and ponting it can be debatable who is best me being indian would go for dravid but ponting ,kallis also come in same league... may be he didnt get bowlers like what pionting but he get better batsman then what ponting got...

  • @36pratham Viv Richards probably....But the other three mainly played in the 70s....and I said the last 30 yrs...any way dont hold it againt me..

  • Gentleman of the game.

  • I'm Australia and I know there is an intense rivalry between Aus and India but, wow, I love Dravid. So good.

  • check the shot at 1:27 it is the best shot with super style even god of cricket SRT cannot play it though sachin is greatest rahul dravid is also the greatest because they r indian cricketers

  • The gritty Rahul Dravid... I hope he reinvents himself he still has 2-3 years of test cricket left in him I hope he finishes on the high though he doesn't have anything to prove to any1 over 10,000 thousand runs in both forms of the game says it all a true legend

  • Greatest cricketer ever for me.. Greater than anyone.. !!

  • Just have the feeling that Rohul could match sachin's test records had he been even more dedicated

  • @satishsatishiyer sachin is the best no one can match him...

  • @36pratham its easy scoring runs coming in after dravid because he laid the foundation for the team.

  • @jatpattat lols u must be kidding man... dravid came in the team in 1996 and showed his real class.. after 2000.. till then for 10 to 11 years sachin played like lone warrior for the team... and from 2007 also dravid is playing really bad....

  • @36pratham no, it was ganguly and azharuddin who scored the runs.

  • @jatpattat lols are u out of ur mind...1st of all gangully and azhar both use to bat after sachin... and i really like to know what azahrudin did in period 1992 to 2000 outside india... he just home track bully who never able to score outside india... he is just avg test batsman who just use to score runs on indian tracks..

and for ur kind information gangully also started in 1996 , pls tell me what gangully did in period of 1996 to 2001 other than his debut series in england....

  • @jatpattat gangully is and avg test batsman who has just 2 100s against australia , his 1st 100 came against aus in 2003 that too in absence of mcgrath and warne, and then 2008 lols.... and has never scored a single 100 against SA... ROFL... gangully is just an avg test batsman who just use to score on flat tracks or in good conditions... u just talking crap and nonsense...

  • @36pratham you full of shit. dravid and sehwag was the backbone of india batting

  • Rahul Dravid is the textbook

  • rahul, i miss him..why he is not playing any more?

  • @longikongi gettin a bit old, plus arthiritis i think, hes playin the IPL tourney dont think hes got the gas left to play 50 overs any more, i loved him too great and classy bats men, wish he was on this world cup squad hopefully we made him proud

    CHAK DE INDIA

  • my favorite cricket player of all time, he's been my favorite since I was a little boy!

  • dravid u never get the applause u deserve...we love you!

  • I have learned everything i know about batting just by watching this man play over the years....he is just the most beautiful batsman to watch when he is in full flow....the cover drives r just magnificent...heck even the flicks towards the leg oose class...one of the great test batsman of all time...no doubts..

  • One of the most Grammatical batting display i ever seen...... The WALL has almighty power to play such type of textbook shots...

  • i tried to copy dravid's style in everyway when playing 'galli' cricket with frens..i got back bain

  • Dravid has hit a total of 5 sixes ever in test cricket. This was one of them! Feel lucky to see it: 2:06

  • i watched the whole 5 days at adelaide oval everyday was 35 degrees and rising. Dravid showed amazing temperament was one of the best tests i have ever seen in my life!

  • This innings was like poetry. One of the best I have ever seen.

Watch the pull shot at 0:30. He rarely plays those nowadays but still ends up scoring double hundreds. Brilliant cricketer.

  • australia scored 400+ on the first day and had the indians 4 for very little when dravid and laxman came together and took the game away from australia

  • @damo24now Thats right. Australia scored 556 and India were 85-4, and then Dravid and Laxman stole the game with a 303 run partnership. Then Agarkar destroyed the Aussie batting lineup in the 2nd innings.

  • dravid's all century in india won match

  • There are 2 heroes indian cricket will never forget, they are dark horses and great sportsmen, one rahul dravid and other V.V.S lakshman , who are real fighters and were saviours of india from jaws of defeat many many times, hats up!!

  • Can anyone upload the same innings with the Channel 9 commentary team. The espn commentators were pathetic

  • I remember this, it was like Calcutta all over again

  • seeing the situation of the game, the conditions and the quality of opposition i wouldn't mind placing this innings at par with Laxman's epic 281.

  • @krrazzyboy Not quite, man. Even Rahul would agree with that!

Bowling attack and match situation are very important factors to be considered. This is a great knock. Let's just leave it at that without running into comparisons.

Personally, I'd pay money to watch Dravid score a 20 than many other agricultural batsmen score a century. He was just that delightful to watch whether in defense or strokeplay. Every movement oozes class. Orgasmic, as some would say :-)

  • Classy...that is the only word that defines this innings..it just every flick of his is just soo stylish..and those cover drives r a sight for the gods...i hate the fact that this maan has always had to play under the shadow of tendulkar..in any other time, in any other team..this maan would have been the be all and end all..i truly believe he is one of the greatest test batsmen of all time..hands down

  • im pakistani and i think dravid just oozes class, patience and mental strength

  • @hassan787 It's a bit sad that Test cricket at the moment is being dominated by muscled flat-track bullys rather than technically sound players. With Dravid, Tendulkar, Kallis and a few others retiring soon, I'm afraid some great class would be lost. For that reason, it gave me great satisfaction when Pakistan brought back Yousuf for the 3rd test against England. That is another class player surrounded by technically incompetent batsmen.

  • Spent a long time with Laxman again.... both classy players, great to watch

  • Dravid remains my favorite Batsman of all time.

  • wt a way of bringing century , he actually hit an awesome six

  • i have yet to see a more techincally elegant batsman. Tendulkar maybe a greater batsman, but Dravid is just so technically impeccable.

  • @were455 Gavaskar was technically better. In fact Allan Border till this day maintains that he has never seen anyone with a technique as good as Sunny.

  • every shot is classic

without him india not able to win world cup 2011.

  • STupids Dont Compare sachin With dravid Noobs.......!!!! Sachin is Greatest....rahul is great.......

  • @samsung123451 well theyre both indians and ON THE SAME TEAM, so why the comparison???

  • All elegant and orthodox wristy drives from Dravid......

But doesn't the pitch seem to be a bit flat?????

  • @Prideandgloryful Really? I bet you never played cricket in your sorry life. Rahul is one among the top 5 scorers in the world in test cricket. Shame on you, you imbecile. What have you achieved in your life?

  • Awesome innings awesome player, it's a shame he's so over shadowed by Tendulkar. I actually enjoy watching him bat more. So elegant!

  • man he was one helluva class

  • If Tendulkar borns after every 100 years than cricketer like DRAVID borns once in 1000 years.. Thanks DRAVID to enternain us....You r legend for all cricket lovers...

  • classy

  • There are two batsmen on the Indian team who have the ability to succeed in any era against any attack ... Dravid and Laxman.

  • He is not a good batsman, he is a great batsman with impeccable technique. And what i see of him during interviews n things he does off the field a very humble human being as well.

He, like Laxman, made his most crucial runs when his team's back was against the wall.. N it gets better because, they used to hunt in pairs (a' la wasin-waqar, walsh-ambrose etc) against the best side of their cricketing carrer - the Ozs.

  • That makes him (n Laxman - although he hasn't done justice to his full ability, for whatever reason) one of the true greats of the game.

ANd as a club cricketer and a cricket-fiend, i wish i could play

  • this was a good series to watch...the absence of mcgrath was probably a crucial factor, but indian batting was at its peak during this series and the one that followed in pakistan.

  • fuck aussie

  • @AussieScumPie dont be a racist

  • He plays so straight. Wish i could play like that.

  • He is the wall for his(Indian) team and he has proved once again in todays game with his 181 not out agaist the Srilankan side . Also Mahendra Singh Dhoni( Mr Cool) had supported him with the partnership of more than 230 runs. Mr Cool also had a century 110 runs.

  • I an not a fan of the Indian cricket team but .....If any body ask to me who is my favourite batsman ? Then my first answear would be RAHUL DRAVID . I see him as a great batsman and heard a lot about Sir Donald Bradman.

  • laxman dravid best timers of a crciekt ball youll ever see( apart from me that is)

  • There used to be a batsman called Sadagopan Ramesh from the indian team . A batsman was a great timer of the ball but lack of footwalk . Despite of that skill he scored 90 runs something in his debut match failed to get a century but in the next match he got his century against the bowler like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Sohaib Akhtar and Saqlain Mustaq. If any batsman in the world bat against these bowlers the they don,t have even time to breath in the crease.

  • god he's such a technically sound batsman. india was incredibly fortunate to have dravid, tendulkar, ganguly and azharuddin in the 90's ...

  • flawless technique

  • He is one of the greatest test batsman from India ..

  • I consider myself lucky that I got to see players like Dravid, Sachin and VVS play for India in the 90/2000s. This was when test cricket mattered and we could see the difference between the men and boys. With todays T20, anyone like Yuvraj, Raina and Rohit can become heroes without even knowing how to play the short-pitched ball.

Dravid's innings in Australia, NZ and ENG will always be amongst the precious cricketing memories.

  • @mondi77 i like how you make fun of them not being able to play the short pitch.. ahah.. i hope you saw the IPL 2010 game of RCB vs. RR where Yusuf Pathan had similar problems :)

thats what sets the men apart from the boys in India.. the short-pitch ball :)

  • 1:27 great cover drive ;look at that stride

  • Dravid is so good 2 watch so stylish a choice between him and vaughan in his prime as my 2 fave 2 watch

  • and fleming

  • No bowler in the world can get Dravid out when he is in form.

His contribution towards India's improved overseas performance is impeccable and the wall will always be remembered as an individual who changed world cricket forever.

  • great cricketer ever,,,,,,,,,,

  • he's one of the stylish batsman n one of the best cricketers of d world....!!!!!

  • An innings of the highest quality. Dravid has always been the backbone of India's batting for more than a decade.

  • When he and indian middle order were in the peak of their powers!

  • India's unsung hero......

  • Its Rahul's best batting against the best team in the World. He is the most consistent batsman in the world .

  • good

  • One of the most stylish double centuries you will ever see...all textbook shots. Chances are that Dravid has probably even read the textbook before he ever picked up a bat.

  • @jumpnjza2 mate dravid wrote the textbook

  • This was such an amazing victory, Dravid was awesome. His 70* in the second innings was possibly even better. I heard he was on the field for all but an hour of the 5 days. A gret hero of Indian cricket.

  • @oitoitoi im pretty sure it was 75*

  • man he really get on to the spinners didnt he

  • man he really get on to the spinners didnt he

  • yes dravid will make a big century in australia , ganguly, tendulkar had their ovations now it will be dravids turn

  • thx for the post man

  • andy bichel getting owned here
