Remember these days when W.I and Aussie was the greatest matches..Was around 5yrs old to 10yrs old but always enjoy watchin the Aussies come to the Caribbean and play us.. Mark Waugh n Steve Waugh..good times.
lol, its funny how alot of ppl keep living in the past, cricket has become alot more difficult for a bowler at this time, its also harder to bat..... looking at that highligh it was an ok match, back then! i would love to see those length balls being bowled now in an odi or t20i.... face the facts, cricket is harder to play right now
This west indian team was the last great team they had, excluding a few players, this team played in 1996 WC and lost in the SF against Australia by 5 runs. That was their last best performance in the WC. After that, WI have never risen to those heights.
I was 13 and i had seen this one live .Without any Doubt it's one of the best one day internationals u will ever witness till day. Long live Michael Bevan
@OpticalRace Cool Carl was a fantastic player in his heyday, a very good bowler, devastating batsman and a very very good fielder as well, an excellent Captain as well, he knows how to talk to each player, and their specific weaknesses and strengths as well.
ya he was drped by harper and harper knew he droped and he went on and celebrated ,, harper was great player he started coaching when he retired i did not expect that from player like harper,,
I still think there is a place for 50 over cricket I love watching it as much as I ever had and hope the crowds and ratings on tv stay high to keep this great form of the game going.
Michael Bevan is God!!! This game brings back so many good memories.. I was jumping up and down in my couch when Bevan hit that shot.. I was 15 then..:-)
no Hanson lara was not injured. He had made himself unavailable for that series and had reportedly wanted to quit telling that cricket had ruined his life after he was fined for an offence.
Great Match and I loved the batting of carl hooper amazing ,and his catch to dismiss reifell unbelivable
what a great game i reckon just better than the aus vs saf match of 2006. my mate who absolutley hated cricket at the time watched this match with me and at the end of it he started to like cricket
this was one of my fondest memories as a kid. Bevan could really play under pressure. As for the rest of my observations, Warne would have made a good captain had he kept it in the pants.
Should give credit to Reiffel, and McGrath. Pigeon put Bevo on strike with 2 balls to go, and McGrath had an excellent average of 2 with the bat at that time!
match seems like it was only last summer, never forget this match, bevan is the man, knew how to play so well in a run chase, hussy is great but his no bevan
I remember watching Channel Ten news the following night, where they showed the press conference with Bevan. Underneath Michael Bevan's name was the caption, "Man of the match."
I was wondering why no one had posted a video of this one. I remember switching off the telly and then gaping in awe at the end result when I saw it on the news. Thanks mate!
these were cricket's great days.

I used to love this Aussie team, they were true fighters. Just wonder if they really had bad day on 1996 WC final. Steve Waugh made them Invincibles.
Cricket was really exciting those days of great quality. Now this T20 really sucks.

As far as Harper knew the balled rolled from his hands onto his legs. He did not see the ball hit the ground. We are talking seconds here.
