  • Been in a new Australian-spec Ford Focus Titanium with this Active Park Assist technology - I think it's a good idea! With the Focus' APA, it controls all steering, unlike in the MKS where it doesn't!

  • when i grow up im going to make cars and im going to use this in ALL my cars only without the petals

  • But! Who came out with that feature first? The only thing Lincoln did, was just copy the idea and improve on it. Toyota/ Lexus,BMW pave the way for many luxury cars in terms of technology and comfort. You will definitely see improvement in that feature in a different brand next year some time.

  • i really love this car

  • Comment removed

  • lol that is creepy.

  • but with lexus you dont have to back and and move forward all u do is press the brakes

  • great feature.. thanks to this 'handy' technology people will continue to drive worse and worse

  • Why would you try to parallel park in a head-in parking space?

  • just because we have the technology to do this, doesnt mean we need to use it. how many guys here could have found that parking spot on thier own and parked quicker? park assist is like having a toilet tell you when to wipe your ass!

  • The footage is like from Cloverfield.

  • nice feature for women drivers.

  • Looks like your a thousand feet away from the curb tho

  • Too bad he parked in the wrong direction that wasnt a parallel parking spot FAIL ford try again

  • @wsmarines1 you try again. moron.

  • what does that even mean douche bag get a fucking life

  • wow, it parked itself into two spots instead of one,... wtf!?

  • Assisted parallel park - the MKS is about as long as one and a half Lexus RX350's (the SUV you saw behind it) - so it needs the two nose-in spots to park properly!

  • Thats for woman right and people that have tooooooo much time.

  • Haha

Lexus and VW had this before Lincoln. American engineering!!! (sarcasm)

  • Yes, but Lincoln waited until they could make a system that was easy to use and actually worked. Lincoln's system parks 3 times faster, 3 time more consistently, and half a foot closer to the curb than the system Lexus uses, and unlike Lexus', Lincoln's system isn't affected by fog, rain, or traffic conditions. So yeah, in the spirit of American engineering, if we didn't invent it ourselves, we took the crap that someone came out with and made it 10x better.

  • nice... and if you left your car like that, you might get a ticket lol. but seriously yea this can be useful in some really packed parking in busy cities, where you have to parallel, it's a bitch without having a rear camera or any sensing gadgets in your car unless it's tiny.

  • ...and wouldn't ya know it, the thing parked next to a Lexus.

btw...what ever happened to the days when people actually knew how to DRIVE, let alone park???

  • not so impressive

  • this technology is stupid , if you cant park a car u shouldnt be driving. not to mention it parked the wrong way in the stal

  • @hoffa1968 thats because its suppose to parallel park, duh.

  • what?... they cant design that ford piece of shit to park between two yellow lines? gm can drive a car around a whole race track with no driver and so can bmw so yea keep your duh to yourself, if they are going to make it park itself then atleast give it the ability to park the right fuckin way in a spot.

  • they could but they obviously havent released it yet dipshit. the feature was first invented to help people who cant parallel park so thats the fucking point of it. besides for those cars to drive the course themself they have to have already been driven around the course oh and that wouldnt mean anything on the road considering you would have to have already driven to your definition and the roads are a tiny bit different then a track.

  • they should of released the full version then , i still think its half ass

  • Is that dude's hair real or is it a bad rug? and would it have killed him to actually go out on the street to park it? this doesn't seem like a real demo. The guys a joke.

  • Happy to answer your question Lee. Yes, my hair is real. Strange of you to ask.

Now answer a question for me. Do you honestly not understand how this video demonstrates Active Park Assist or are you just being a douche?

  • I understand how it works. Maybe you're too fucking lazy to demo it right. And who are you t call me a douche? it's clear that you are the fucking douche. Asshole.

  • I guess that answers my question. Cheers.

  • Its all good dude, the smart people understand what you were showing. Its best to just ignore the dumb ones lol

  • ppl on youtube are slow u should have called it parallel parking assist. but it did look cool.

  • Aha did u see how it parked

  • WOW Compared to that Fit and RX the MKS looks like a MONSTER!

  • kinda sad that people need this

  • With this much space I can park a city bus there.

  • lol , nice

  • Alright everyone. Here's the deal. There's no parallel parking near the KBB offices. I could have wrangled a couple other people to drive two more cars to the street for a "more real situation" but I figured folks on YouTube would be sharp enough to understand what's happening in the video. My bad.

To clarify, the MKS can automatically find a space of adequate size and parallel park itself in it. That's what happened in the video. It would do the same if parking between cars on the street.

  • The fact that you needed to explain that shows why we need the system in the first place xD

  • I know it wasn't a real spot but I just wanted to see how close it would be to an actual curb in a real life situation.

  • that's supposed to be ironic right?

  • I guess this is really just for parallel parking huh?

  • Umm....parking FAIL.

You're supposed to park between the white lines not across them.....

I don't understand while he didn't just go to a street and test the parallel parking in a more real situation.

  • Gorgeous car but WTF? Automatic Parking is all well and good but ya know I prefer my vehicles in...oh I dont know....actual parking spaces. I can see how the filthy animals at Lexus could have gotten this concept wrong but come on Lincoln. This vid must be just a joke. It can park itself but can't actually locate a parking spot? Am I missing something here?

  • It only does parellel parking. Right now, companies are trying to make the really parking assist.

  • Nice car!
