  • Instructions @ screen 4:09 and 4:29 dont match!!! it should be:

    positive---- RESISTOR---- LED ---- negative

  • Did everything that you told me to do, and now the controller wont go back together nor the LED will work.... I can get the controller back together in time but shit... LED dont work...

  • where can i buy all the parts to do this?

  • READ THE DESCRIPTION GUYS.......-.-

  • @grimmmm5 bro, don't beat yourself up about not knowing how to do that kind of stuff. All you need is the Internet to learn how to do stuff like this

  • I wish I was smart enough to do shit like this but to bad I'm not. All I am is an ignorant piece of shit who has no talent in anything.

  • song?

  • song called ??

  • can i buy some led lights and take my controller to some electronic store, and ask them to do it for me...and will they be able to?

  • @Lola15Sarajevo I doubt it man, it depends, there may be stores, example Modworld in NYC, Chinatown, they do it. Just gotta find the places, but its relatively easy, if you have some kind of experience in soldering and good at following instructions you should be good to go. Goodluck

  • i went to radio shack and got a 1/4 watt 4.7k - Ohms resistor and the color rings are yellow purple red gold will that work? or should i get a different one?

  • dont do this at airport security

  • Where can i get a led and a resistor

  • @MASTERJAKE991 your school lol

  • I gotta problem my kontroller doesnt look like yours opened up.-.-

  • 8 ppl messe up xD

  • do they absolutely have to be 30 gauge? i have 18 gauge.

  • can you get them at radioshack?

  • @BurgerTown0093 yep, you can get most of everything you need to do this at Rshack, everything else I got at Home Depot, btw, its very easy to do, take ur time and you're good to go, gluck..

  • @DmoneyS2K001 thanks dude

  • @ 3:20. There are words that say LED5 Which are right under the PS button if you put them back together. Can you just solder an LED there like the ones on the top left of the controller are? Help anyone???

  • how do i change the color

  • @feffontes change color? If you mean the LED, you will have to open up your controller and do the mod, you can use multicolored LED, you will get different colors, goodluck

  • @DmoneyS2K001 i mean i bought a 2 color LED isnt there any button or any button combination that i can press to change LEDS?

  • @feffontes= well when you say it that way, then there is alot more work in this case, ur gonna want a switch/resistor and hook it up separately or you can just hook it up regularly and the lights will alternate through the diff colors, let me know if you need any assistance

  • @DmoneyS2K001 i bought a ps3 white controller on ebay, a normal one, but i think it has blue LEDS cause one day i was playing infamous and my leds turned blue, suddently, and i open the controller and touched it and that led disapeared and the LED was ON even with the controller disconnected from the PS3

  • @feffontes hey sry for the late reply, was the controller a 2nd hand controller or brand new? If it was 2nd hand then that person did the mod to it, as far as I know, and I'm sure you are aware of this, LEDs in the controllers are all RED. So it could have already been modded, let me know if u need any help with any modding its my specialty and my major. Goodluck.

  • @DmoneyS2K001 i bought it on ebay, but when i opened the controller the blue LEDS desapeared, they arent back till now, and they still not activated, how can i activate them?

  • I just wanna do the player indicators how do i do that i cant find a video on it?

  • @DrumFluff101= well it won't be any different from this video, just figure out a place where you would want to place the LEDs at the player indicators, and my videos along with others shows you the + & - (positives & negative points and just solder the wires leading from those points to where you need the LEDs and your good to go, makes sense when you think about it, let me know if it worked, goodluck man..

  • when you solder does the resistor side go on the negative or the positive?

  • @pizzabrain1044 = it doesnt really matter, but from experience and what I heard and saw, put it on the negative, and try to always use resistors you will extend the life of anything LEDs\Smts etc, good luck

  • do u need resistor????

  • @CelinsBoy if you want you can use a resistor, it extends the life of the LED, but u don't need to

  • To buy the parts, go to Radioshack. Just bought all of them, came to $20 w/ the Saudering Iron included.

  • Comment removed

  • Where can i get this stuff because it looks very interesting to try?

  • thuis is way to risky haha it doesnt even hav a video

  • Can you but the LED lights from stores?

  • @METALFREAK0101 ya at Radio shack or on Ebay, just google LEDs

  • in the end the orange controller was brighter was that a five and the green was a 3?

  • Where can I buy all the stuff. Could Radioshack be my best bet. Im not gonna buy online also.

  • Whats the point of a resistor?

  • shoot this is cool and all but these controllers are too dang expensive for me to be messin with

  • Hey ,can you help me ?

    /watch?v=hhz1u13m8VI

  • Will a 1/2 watt 47ohms resistor work? Instead of a 1/4 watt one?

  • @Iammyself920 - yep it would, I only used the said, resistor because of calculations, but ur safe to use that one

  • ? R u joking why would an led add "a shit load to your electricity bill" it's ganna use a small amount from your controller battery. Also LEDs are very efficient.

  • does this add a shitload of money onto my electricity bill

  • you got me with the song

  • how do u get an led light???

  • @NYcMAniAk- You can try googling LED lights or you buy them from EBAY, or a website called sickmods.net, really good website, for modders

  • @DmoneyS2K001 cant you get them at like radio shack and electronic stores

  • @TheMattbrady70 i got mine from radio shack.

  • @NYcMAniAk radioshak

  • what is the supply voltage of the ps3 circuit board

  • whats the point of resistors.... cause in many tutorials they dont use any resistors?

  • @ChurBurras = Well the reason some ppl use resistors, is so that, you don't fry your board, which can happen sometimes, for proper usage as well as longer lasting use of the LEDs, resistors help limit the amount of current/volts going to the LED, which would help save the LED from burning out. Basically preservation of the LEDs Life.

Resistor=Right Power to the LED= Longer life of the LEDs

  • Daft punk is going hard in this vid XD

  • I am currently getting my channel set up i do this for the ps3 controllers any LED in it you want and any paint job you want if interested message me about this.

  • is this for duel shock 3 controller?

  • @IHaZaRDx= YES

  • what led's would i use to mod the player indicators

  • @psmitty95 0603 or you can use 1.5mm LEDs

  • resistors go on negitve aka short one

  • @tatosik13 0603 or 1.5mm LEDs

  • uggg this is to damn confusing for a LED color change... not worth it for me cuz i just know i would screw up my controller =/

  • does it need to be 1/4 or could it be 1/2 with the same ohms?

  • Nice Mod! But i prefer to use a transparent case! yes do the cutting still but put more leds in and the controller will look fucked up nice

  • dont solder there man. thats how u burn the LED's. there is another place that u can do without the resistor.

  • how do i disable my controllor so it doesnt turn on?

  • man can sum1 do it 4 me lmao

  • whats a 1/4 watts 47ohms resister ?

  • work it harder makes it better do it faster makes us stronger :D

  • i want to put 5 LEDs in my controller how would i do that would i put them all on the same wire or difernt points?

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks

  • what size are the leds?

  • @plugs4life, well I saw a video that used a 5mm Led, but to be safe, for future functionality, use a 3mm, its better, smaller and can fit into the space with a better groove, be careful when going into your controller, and good luck man, any other questions let me know.

  • @DmoneyS2K001 The small ones r 0603"?

  • @max138meeuwis= ya the small ones are 0603 SMT LeDS

  • why the uck has this to be that hard :(

  • WHOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Thanks man i put leds in my controler thanks to You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

  • WHOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Thanks man it works great I have put Leds in my sixaxis controller Thanks to YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your awesome

  • Hey in your nstructions for the LED wiring it says wire---LED POSITIVE----LED NEGETIVE---RESISTOR----WIRE

But in the picture it goes in the following order: WIRE---LED NEGATIVE---LED POSITIVE--RESISTOR----WIRE

    Which is the right way????

  • @ugodurant Thanks very much dude, I corrected the problem, and you can use the picture for the correct LED layout, I put an annotation in the video check 4:25 to about 4:38, use thie picture to build your connections. Thanks again man.

  • @DmoneyS2K001 Anytime just thought I would comment. Also does this still work on ALL PS3 DuelShock 3 Sixaxis controllers or does the installation vary from board to board. Because there are multiple boards and I have a New (just got it a few day ago) White Sony WIreless Duelshock 3 Sixaxis controller. Will this still work on that???

  • @DmoneyS2K001 PS, this is my second account, i'm Ugodurant also lol!

  • what is 30 gauges wire ???

  • wow dude you gave thecolor code and every thing wow just for that im going to subscribe to you youll be my first

  • is it a 470 ohms resister cause i can't find a 47

  • Make a Video.. Dude.

  • hey at the begining u said yellow purple black resitor what do u mean by that?! plzz reply

  • @dman25pwner the colors on the resistor tell you wats the ohms resistance ;)

  • nice i put a red led in mine =)

  • hey man nice vid. you say u use a 47 ohms resistor for a red led but i want to use a white led. how many volts does the ps3 controller have? thanks

  • mate i donot have the white box eny iders ? pllz someone help ?? :/ where elts can i put it all ?

  • okay i have not soldered it all in yet but when i connect the white box positive and the ground with wires and turn the controller on, the led does nto light. does it need to be soldered for the connection to work?

  • My conntroler says dualshock 3 six axis and looks nothing like this one can you mod dual shock 3

  • wait is there a led already in the circle button thingy? idk i never looked at it in the dark when im playing hum

  • Nah there isnt any, you can mod it if you want and put the LED

  • I just did the mod and it worked great. It looks so cool. I didn't use a resistor though. How I got my parts was I went to my local thrift store and picked up a kids toy for about $1 and it had the leds and the wire I wanted. Saved me a couple bucks.

  • Great job, Nice to see it worked for you, NICELY DONE.

  • Do you think not having a resistor will affect anything?

  • how can u tell if its 3mm

  • ill pay for someone to make me one

  • Man I am totally lost, what to cut, what to solder... I really want to do this but I'm afraid of recking my only controlled. :(

  • ugghhh this is gonna be hard.......ive never soldered in my life, nor have i played with anythin this complicated

  • Whats the fcking point ... Rofl

  • i can paint controllers at a charge that varies around £15/20 - £30/35

  • how many LEDS can i solder to this points

  • You can solder, up to about 6 Leds, thats about it, when you do the math, with the voltage, and the resistor and everything else, with me it works out to about 6. Hope this helps..

  • can u do 7 or will that not work?

  • you can acctuly put as many as you want just put a bigger resistor in it to hold more voltage or get low low low voltage lights and add lots of them. ive got 25 lights in mine no fake not lying. hope it helps

  • this is a year old now nearly and the controllers internals dont look like this, only models from a year ago will work, my sixaxis DS3 has no plastic covering on it AND has no slots like yours to solder the positve lead, looks way different than yours

  • I think that all sixaxis (non DS3) controllers look like this.

  • GREAT REMIX whats it called

  • For some reason why but your controller is much different then from my Sixaxis and DS3 Controllers and was not the way I modded mine, it was well detailed but I don't think I'll be doing this type of mod any time soon...

  • where u get the blue controller

  • I made it myself, I took it apart and painted it blue.

  • can usend me a message telling how you painted it blue with out piainting buttons and what type of paint to use

  • ya, i would like to know how u painted it, too

  • just take plastic covering off and pint it front and back with spray paint let dry slam it back 2gether. just dont get paint that has chemicals that will melt plastic.

  • Where di you buy the LEDS from??

  • Please can you tell me the name of this remix??Pleaseeeee!!!!!!

  • Yeah sure, I just added to the description, you can download it, from rapidshare

  • Thanks!!! ; ) ... your tutorial has been very helpful for me!!!!!

  • hey, does the 30 gauge wire work on dualshock 3 as well? i believe it was the sixaxis u were working on..

  • Yeah it does, It wouldn't affect anything.

  • on the disgram on 4:27 I think you switched the positive and negative side

  • plz i opened 3 of mine and none look like that inside

  • I'm still waiting for a response.......lol

  • I replied to you through email, you should have gotten it by now, if not let me know your question or if you need something else answered

  • Yea I forgot the password to that email account, can you just send me mail through youtube? thanks allot man, and nice video, awesome music!

  • Oh I forgot to mention, one of the controllers I have does not have the rubbery thing you need to cut in half, so i dont know if this mod will work for that controller, thanks in advance

  • hey man does this work for the original sixaxis controller that came with the 60 and 80 gig systems? and thanks allot for this tutorial, I just need to order the stuff for this from ebay, cant find the 30 gauge wires tho, hopefully someone can help me lol, would best buy sell that stuff?

  • Would love to do this but it looks hard as hell and I'm too scared lol.

  • Hey, what type of resiter should I use ?

    Thanks.

  • hey can make a tutorial for ps3??

    great vid. 5/5 stars

  • Hey Whats up! Tutorial for the PS3? This is for the PS3, DO you mean Xbox?!

  • lol i slept while the video was playing and just wake up

  • Is it that long? LOL. Nice bedtime story for you, LOL! I hope it helped you.

  • should i get the smallest led possible

  • Hey whats up, not really, if you are doing the status LEDs then you need SMT LEDs, but if you are doing the Home Button, you can use the 3mm LEDs.

  • dose the resister ends have to be conected a certain way

  • Hey whats up, Well the resistor does not have to be connected a certain way, when you start moving up to power sources that are greater than the PS3 controller, not really. you can have it anyway.

  • that sounds hard dude im not going to try that

  • Hey whats up, Its not that difficult, if you know how to solder and you know where all the positive and negatives are you good to go. You can do it, if you need any help, hit me up, I can help you out if you decide on trying it out. pce!

  • Hey whats up, DID you have try this mod YET?! If you need any help just let me know. Pce~!

  • no not yet im doing it friday :)

  • If you need any help just message me, I'll be glad to help out, Goodluck man.

  • lol all that work and i just bought a dual shock six axis, turbo controller for $85 CA

  • hey watss da song name ?

  • Daft Punk- Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger- Phanatic Remix, its a nice Song

  • Thankss =]

  • No Problem

  • Hey I updated the description so that it contains the song played in this video, so that you can download it, peace.

  • I put a rapidshare link, so you can get the song if you want, its in the description

  • maaan i got duelshock 3 and my board is different, that suks lol took all that time putting it back together its a pain in the ass

anybody know if sony release new controller or is it only duel shock 3 thats different?

  • Hey, Well from what I know, Dualshock 3 is different, I have video showing the Tutorial for a Dualshock 3 controller check it out.

  • yea i used 24 or 26 gauge wire and it was double core wire just split it to make single core but i used the diffrent color wires though as a negative and a positive. Also on my other controller im doing the same with ps button but going to hook to others to the rumblers. Yo Dmoney add me on PSN my name is PhATmAN51

  • Alright its working my advice to anyone that tries this is get coverd wires and cover any of the resitor wire and led wire showing its easier that way.

  • Nice you got it, what wire did you use. I used 30AWG Kynar wire, its great. And electrical tape to cover up everything.

  • well from my expeirnce make sure you get the small size solder and a 30g wire thats coverd. I got mine to work but the sprint button isnt working right now. The only thing i can think of is a wire is touching. What do you think Dmoney?

  • Hey sorry for the late reply, just kinda busy with Christmas coming and all. It could be a wire is touching did you use any electrical tape on your wires, so that they don't touch the board? That could be problem.

  • hey this might be a stupid question but is the wire you need single stranded and what size solder do u need

  • You can use 30AWG wire, its Single Stranded and is good for these kinds of work.

  • 30AWG Kynar wire...!!

  • well i think i have some bad luck or something cuz i was putting it back together today and all of a sudden the positive end of the led broke off so now i have to wait till tormmrow

  • Aww sorry to hear that man, just be careful, make sure it has enough wire for flexibility that way it wont break in the future, hey man where would we be without Trial and Error, right? We learn from our mistakes, but if you need anyhelp just let me know man, take care.

  • i thought u did right now i have to wait till tommrow if not till tuesday. Cuz didnt get the right type of wire no vynle cover on it and plus not right size soder

  • You can use, 30 AWG Kynar Wire.

Its a Thin and flexible wire, thats perfect for LEDs and Modchip installations and does not require a heavy current load.

  • do u know if u use a reisitor on the new sixaxis

  • yeah I did. You don't have to but you don't want your LED to burn out, so use the Resistor so it will last longer.

  • Good video plan on doing this today hopefully it works.

  • Nice to hear that, if you need any assistance let me know, I'll be happy to help out, Goodluck...!!

  • The areas that you have highlighted in red (soldering areas) are not on my ps3 controller? And my contoller has not got a white piece of rubber its just all black

  • I have an update video, showing the controller I think you have. check out my other videos, you should find your controller.

  • hey how come my controller dosnt have the white box wiht the wires coming fromw it :|

  • I have an update video, showing the controller I think you have. check out my other videos, you should find your controller.

  • wut does the resistor do?

  • What do resistors do?

Resistors limit current. In a typical application, a resistor is connected in series with an LED: Enough current flows to make the LED light up, but not so much that the LED is damaged.Resistors are used with transducers to make sensor subsystems. Transducers are electronic components which convert energy from one form into another, where one of the forms of energy is electrical. A light dependent resistor, or LDR, is an example of an input transducer.
